CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Casing Melissa Davies

Today's Featured Designer CASE is Melissa Davies, and this is the card I chose to CASE. It was hard to choose just one!

I liked the layout of this one especially, but used Cottage Rose as the image, and watercolored it as a Peace Rose.

I had forgotten about my Saddle Brown StazOn ink, which was the perfect choice for this watercolored image! I found the black was a bit too harsh for the soft look I was trying to achieve, but Saddle Brown worked perfectly.

After coloring it with Sweet Sorbet, Mango Melody, and Mossy Meadow, it was die cut and popped up on dimensionals over the Into the Clouds embossed background.

The Control Freaks are Seeing Spots!

The Freaky theme this month is circles, spots, and/or spatters so this should be a fun hop! If you landed here from Melissa's blog, welcome! There are five of us this month, so it won't take too long to take the tour.

I had all kinds of ideas popping in my head, but I manage to narrow it down to just three...one for Autumn and two for Winter. Since Autumn is up next on the calendar, let's start with that one! The Fond of Autumn bundle is so fun to play with, especially if you like to color, which of course I do. 😁

I combined all kinds of elements on this card, from a border die (Basic Borders) to the grid die behind the image (Chic Dies) to an embossing folder (Gingham), a little DSP, and spatters from the Color & Contour stamp set - whew!

I even colored some Fine Sparkle Gems to match the flower centers. I sure do love being able to make custom-colored embellies to coordinate.

Next is the Winter card featuring circles and polka-dots. That lovely dotted silver DSP is only available until the end of this month (while supplies last) as a Sale-a-Bration freebie with qualifying purchase.

I used the trees from the Peaceful Deer stamp set to create the winter sunrise scene. I forgot to leave enough room for the greeting, so I stamped some Vellum Cardstock and die cut the circle to lay over the scene letting it hang off the edge.

The last card was made with the Christmas Lights bundle and the coordinating Lights Aglow Specialty DSP. I love the Bokeh look of the background DSP. It's like looking at lights through squinted eyes.

The tree was stamped, heat embossed in gold, die cut with the outline die, then die cut again with the inner detail die. I added some red glimmer paper behind for extra sparkle.

I have to tell ya, those Festive Pearls are the perfect thing for trimming the tree! The greeting is from Brightest Glow, a fab collection of just greetings, and part of the whole Lights Aglow Suite.

Stamp Review Crew - Bottled Happiness

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Bottled Happiness edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Mike's blog, welcome! There are five of us today, so the hop won't take long, but I'm sure it will be fun!

Bottled Happiness is a thirteen piece photopolymer stamp set, and it has a matching Vintage Bottle Punch that can be bundled with it to save 10%. There are also some adorable little Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes and Effervescent Elements (pg. 16 in the AC) to make shaker cards, which is what I did for my first card.

This went together so quickly, I was surprised! I started with a Merry Merlot card base and used a Blending Brush with Merry Merlot to create the background with two of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks.

After punching the bottle in Basic White, I used Stampin' Write Markers (Merry Merlot, Polished Pink, Melon Mambo, and Granny Apple Green) to ink the two-step stamps and stamped above the bottle.

Adding the shaker dome was easy with the adhesive already to go on both sides...just adhere the bottle into the opening, add the shaker elements and a piece of Window Sheet to hold them in place, then pop it up on the card!

The next card uses the piece that I punched out from the first card. Photopolymer stamps made it easy to stamp exactly where I wanted using Evening Evergreen. After the bottle was stamped, I pressed it onto a VersaMark pad and heat embossed with clear powder so it looked like glass.

The background bottles were stamped in Soft Succulent. I cut down a strip of Natural Finish Ribbon to use behind the greeting and frayed the ends a bit. Speaking of the greeting, I was soooo tempted to add an S at the end, what with all those bottles in the background. 😄

The wine label was stamped in Crumb Cake and Evening Evergreen. I think that color combination is so perfect together!

I was feeling the holiday spirit (see what I did there? Heh.) when I made this last card. The need for glitz and glimmer overtook me! I started with the Lights Aglow Specialty Paper and used the colors as inspiration. The background bottle was stamped in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, then diluted Crumb Cake ink spatters were added, along with a few stars & sparkles from the Christmas Lights stamp set.

Originally the sprigs were going to be Crumb Cake, but I though gold greenery (goldery?) would look better. And to really make the card pop, a fussy cut Merry Merlot bottle to hold them.
