YEAR END SALES EVENT

https://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/Promotions/NA/2017/Year%20End%20Sale/Year%20End%20Sale%20Event%20US.pdf

Today is the beginning of the Stampin' Up! Year End Sales Event and retiring list. The items on this list (not all are discounted, but many are) will longer available after January 2nd, and some items are while supplies last. Which means don't expect everything will still be available to order later this month!

You can see this whole list HERE, or by clicking on the banner above. I am shocked, SHOCKED, I tell ya, at some of the things retiring! The Quilt Builder Framelits? Really??? And the 1/8" Gold Ribbon?!

EDITED TO ADD: Thank you, Patty, for reminding me that the gold ribbon is just on sale, NOT retiring! Whew!

Eternally Grateful

There is so much I want say about Memorial Day, the day that we remember the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, but words fail me.

As the child of a career military father, who was fortunate enough to come safely after all of his deployments, I cannot even fathom the anguish of the families whose loved ones didn't come home safely.

For those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and for the families left behind to mourn, I want to offer my deepest gratitude. I am thankful every day for my freedom, and honor your courage.

A Different Baby Card

We have a lot of deer here. And by a lot, I mean we've counted thirty-two at one time in our hay field!
Smiley from Millan.Net
That mob hung around for a while, but seems to have dispersed. Now we are seeing small bachelor groups of maybe four to six. This is the time of year the does are off birthing their fawns, and it's always so exciting to spot the first fawn of the year. (Heh heh, "spot" the first fawn.) The only trouble is, while we love watching them, they are are real problem when it comes to our young orchard and garden-to-be.

There is a chicken wire fence around everything but they could hop over it without any effort, so we're looking to "discourage" them with electric fencing. Maybe a little jolt will make the green things on the other side less enticing. Now if it would just work on the darn bugs! Geez, there are a lot of bugs here! As I'm writing this, I'm enjoying the flashes of lightning bugs outside my window. They aren't garden pests, luckily!

In the Meadow is one of the stamp sets that is retiring next week. In fact, I used all kinds of retiring products here, some of which are already sold out, unfortunately. But the stamp set is still available! I thought the mama and fawn would make a great, rather unusual, baby card.

Here's the "How To"
 Image: Shimmery White 2-1/2" x 4-1/8"
 Mat: Basic Black 2-5/8" x 4-1/4"
 Mat: Shimmery White 2-7/8" x 4-1/2"
DSP: Mint Macaron 4" x 5-1/4" (from 2015-2017 In Colors DSP Stack - RETIRED)
Card base: Mint Macaron 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4" (STILL AVAILABLE 20% off)
  1. Adhere DSP to card base.
  2. Stamp greeting in Basic Black at bottom of image panel.
  3. Stamp deer above greeting, and then on a sticky note to cut out a mask. Mask off the deer and stamp the trees.
  4. Using an Aqua Painter, add spots of Old Olive to the trees and grass, and a light Soft Suede wash to the deer.
  5. Adhere to black mat and then to Shimmery White mat.
  6. Clip ribbon to top with a mini paper clip.
  7. Attach image to card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
NOTE: The Mint Macaron Ribbon and DSP Stack is sold out, but the Mini Paper Clips are still available at 40% off.

Something Old, Something New

When I saw the names of the new 2017-2019 In Colors, I felt kind of iffy about "Lemon Lime Twist", since I'm not much of a fan of bright yellow-green. But once I got my hands on it, and realized the possibilities, I've become a convert!

This thank you card combines Crazy About You, a retiring stamp set, and the retiring coordinating Flower Medallion Punch with two of the new In Colors, Fresh Fig and the aforementioned Lemon Lime Twist. A light sponging of LLT behind the flowers and greeting really makes them pop, don't you agree?

The large flower was punched and the two smaller flowers (stamped off once) were fussy cut, along with the popped-up leaves. The flower centers are Crushed Curry from the Regals Enamel Shapes which, I am happy to say, IS carrying over!

The list below is what is current and/or retiring.....no new things to link yet! Retiring items are in red.

Oh So Succulent Farewell

I was oh, so sad to see that Oh So Succulent is on the retiring list. I think I've gotten more use out of this bundle than any other bundle in recent memory. It seemed to be very popular, too, judging from all the pins on Pinterest. With the exception of the ink, everything on this card is retiring. I don't understand why..... just give me a minute......

Okay, I've pulled myself back together. Mr. Brown is bringing some goodies to me this afternoon that will help. I got to pre-preorder the Eastern Palace Suite that is going to be in the new catalog, and it will be available for anyone to preorder starting May 1st! More info on that later, because I'm off to get ready for stamp club tomorrow. Have to design three card projects for my ladies. Thanks for stopping by today!
