Christmas in July

Today is THE LAST DAY to take advantage of the Christmas in July deal from Stampin' Up! In case you missed it, in addition to $125 in products of your choice for only $99 with FREE shipping, you will also receive the Essentials Gift Pack ($72 value) from Stampin' Up! PLUS a welcome gift ($25 value) from me!

This is all part of the benefit of becoming a demonstrator. Many of my "stamping family" have signed up just to get the discount, and never even have parties! There's no obligation on your part to do anything more. If you want to stay active as a demo, you just need $300 in sales per quarter, starting with your first full quarter (Oct-Dec). It can be your own purchases (with the demo discount), or family and friends can order.

This is the stamp set that is included in the Essentials Gift Pack. It coordinates with the Card Front Builder Thinlits, which you can choose in your starter kit, if you want!

If you are on the fence about taking the plunge, let me assure you, you won't regret it! Join now, and start getting the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!

On this card I used our embossing paste, mixed with some clear glitter. It gives the snow a nice sparkly effect! Did you know you can use the heat tool on the embossing paste and make it puff up a little? You can! It doesn't puff up as much as the puffy paint we all used in the 90s, but it does add more dimension to the snow. Spread it on with the palette knife, then immediately heat it with the heat tool, leaving it on each section until it puffs. (Be careful not to leave it TOO long!)

I totally messed up on my dates for the Stamp Review Crew Carols of Christmas Bonus Hop, so if you wanted to see it, you can start here with Tanya's blog, Tinkerin' in Ink with Tanya, then just follow the links from there.

Welcome to my Family!

Programming Note: Controls Freaks Tour de Freaks cancelled until next month, sorry.
But the Stamp Review Crew is having a Carols of Christmas bonus hop on Monday! Yay!

This week I had the very happy news that two more stamping friends have decided to join my stamping family! Welcome Susie and Coli to the cool kids club!!! Since they are now demos themselves and learned the secret handshake *grin*, they got to see the upcoming Holiday catalog that starts September 1st, and are already planning their preorder (with the demo discount!) for next week.

They've also already received their customized starter kits with the bonus Essentials Gift Pack from Stampin' Up! But what they didn't know was, I also planned my own "welcome" gift pack for anyone who signed up for the Christmas in July special this month!

These are going to be mailed out to them on Monday, in the Happy Mail bubble mailers I found on Amazon. They are so cute!!! The envelopes include a package each of the self-adhesive Pearls and Rhinestones Basic Jewels, a pack of the new Mini Dimensionals, a Silicone Craft Sheet, and a Stampin' Pierce Mat, which is so essential for good stamped images when using photopolymer stamps! All in all, that's an additional $25 value "signing bonus"!

You still have until July 31st to get in on all the fun bonuses. If you want more information, please don't hesitate to contact me. I promise there won't be any high pressure sales tactics. I will truthfully answer any questions you have, and if you decide it's not for you, I won't bug you later. Scout's honor!

I honestly don't know why more people don't take advantage of the starter kit. Think of it as getting all your chosen items on sale for >20% off. $125 in products you choose for $99 and free shipping, with absolutely no further obligation. And this month an additional $72 in products from Stampin' Up! and $25 in products from me. That's $222 for $99; you can't lose!

Note: The greeting is from a retired stamp set called Workshop Words. I will never part with it!!!

Background Bits Simple Thanks

While at the monthly stamping get together with my downline this week, I got to borrow her Background Bits host set again. I had used it once before on my anniversary card, but wanted to make a simple Thank You card this time.

After I got home and started putting things together, I decided to add some quick sponged color to make the image pop. And then of course, I had to add an embellishment because, well....shiny!

This is a VERY simple card to put together. If you are in need of a bunch of thank you cards to have on hand, this is the one for you!

Here's the "How To"
 Image: Shimmery White 2-1/8" x 2-3/8"
 Mat: Basic Black 2-1/4" x 2-1/2"
 Card base: Shimmery White 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  1. Using Basic Black Archival ink, stamp floral image on image panel and set aside to dry. Stamp border and greeting on card base.
  2. Sponge So Saffron and Calypso Coral over image when dry, then adhere to black mat.
  3. Wrap ribbon around and tie a square knot, trimming ends at an angle.
  4. Adhere image to card with dimensionals.

Just Add Color

I admit I have some things....okay, MANY things in my craft room that I haven't played with. I'll see something that I simply must have, and then it sits, unused and unloved. The Just Add Color Specialty DSP is one of those things.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to pull it out and have a play date, but I'm glad that I finally did! It was the perfect opportunity to play some more with the watercolor pencils, too. After having some fun the past few days with the watering can in Grown With Love, I was drawn to the watering cans in this pack. I just love coloring - it's like therapy for me. There are some really fun images in the DSP, and I intend to do lots more coloring with them!

The Daisy Punch is back in stock now, too, and I used it to make a sort of scalloped mat for the greeting. I thought it was rather clever, if I do say so myself!
