CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fall Leaves

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Fall Leaves, and boy have they been falling here! I had the bright idea to use some real leaves and cut them with the Stitched Leaves Dies, but it didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. So on to Plan B - cardstock leaves!

The 3-3/4" x 5" embossed Pale Papaya background is popped up on dimensionals. The greeting was heat embossed on a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Cajun Craze and adhered, then three 3/4" x 3-7/8" strips of DSP (Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze) were glued on top with the left sides even with the embossed background.

The leaves were die cut from Pale Papaya and colored with a Water Painter and ink. They were then over-painted with clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer and popped up on dimensionals. A few Bumblebee Matte Decorative Dots completed the card.

That's my share for today. Click the Next button to jump over to Debbie at Debbie Henderson Designs, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner has made!

Country Home Thank You

Heart's Delight Cards, Country Home, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

First of all, I may be making very short blog posts for the next 2-3 weeks, because I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before my Orlando trip, and I'm losing the battle. Not only am I trying to design cards and schedule blog posts in advance (including Stamp Review Crew and My Inky Friends commitments), I also need to make swaps for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event, PLUS roomie gifts for my two room mates. Then I need to think about my Saturday Stampers Club when I get back.

Oh, and did I mention I haven't started my Christmas cards yet, and I've been commissioned to make two dozen Christmas cards for a friend? *Sigh* It will all work out, I know it will. And besides, I do my best work when deadlines are looming, even if it does stress me out.

On to today's card.....I really, really, REALLY hope that Country Home is going to be one of the stamp sets that carries over when the Holiday catalog ends. It is such a sweet set, and I can't get enough of coloring it!

Heart's Delight Cards, Country Home, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

I used the Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss patterns in the Country Lane DSP as the background, and they look awesome together! The greeting, pitcher, and dried arrangement were stamped with Early Espresso and colored with Light Crumb Cake, Light Soft Suede, and Mint Macaron Combo Stampin' Blends Makers.

Heart's Delight Cards, Country Home, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

And can you believe it....no Big Shot was involved in this card! I know, shocker!

More Darling Label Cuteness

Heart's Delight Cards, Darling Label Punch Box, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

Here's another card using the same stamp and layout as Saturday's card, but with a completely different look. This one is more soft and feminine, whereas the other card was more bold.

Heart's Delight Cards, Darling Label Punch Box, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

Instead of using leaf die cuts, I used some beautiful Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. A couple of quick snips released the border from the sheet so it could be glued to the card. Flirty Flamingo DSP makes the Flirty Flamingo flowers really pop.  Thanks to Stampin' Blends, the flowers and leaves were colored faster than a New York minute!

Everything else is the same as the other card, just different colors and die cuts. Isn't it amazing (and awesome) the different looks you can get using the same stamp?! Same stamp and pack of DSP, totally different feel.

The Very Darling Darling Label Punch

Heart's Delight Cards, Darling Label Punch Box, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

I got to play with the stamps and punch in the Darling Label Punch Box (pg. 44 of the annual catalog) and was really impressed with how quickly a cute card could be made! The tin that it comes in is 8" x 8" x 3" and includes the punch, the six piece stamp set, a clear stamp block, and two Stampin' Spots (Grapefruit Grove and Night of Navy).

I chose the floral stamp because I could color it quickly with Stampin' Blends, but I noticed the punch would cut off some of the leaves. So, I stamped it twice, one for punching and one for a mat so the leaves would show. Problem solved!

Heart's Delight Cards, Darling Label Punch Box, Thanks, Thank You, Stampin' Up!

The second largest Stitched Shapes square was used to cut the mat, and a couple of leaves from the Flourish Thinlits completed the look. I think the black and white coordinate beautifully with the Poppy Parade DSP and flowers!

Thank you, Sherry, for letting me play with your goodies!

MIF Design Challenge #5 - Sketch

https://myinkyfriends.blogspot.com/2018/04/my-inky-friends-design-challenge-5.html

This month's My Inky Friends Design Challenge is a sketch, inspired by the birthday card on page 85 of the 2017-2018 annual catalog. This is a fun sketch to use as a starting point, because there are so many creative possibilities! Remember it's okay to reverse a sketch or turn it sideways, so you have lots of leeway for creativity.

Heart's Delight Cards, MIFDC5, Sitting Pretty, Thank you, Bluebird, Stampin' Up!

I wanted to use a stamp set that I got to pre-preorder as a perk for attending the Stampin' Up! OnStage event earlier this month. (That's one of the many perks of being a demo!) Anyhoo, I just adore the new Sitting Pretty bundle, which has lovely detailed Framelits to go with the stamp set, so today I chose the ornate wrought iron bench.

I can just picture a cozy little nook in my garden, with cement pavers and a potted plant beside the bench. And, because it's my garden, grass growing between the pavers, LOL. At least my favorite visitor came by to chirp "Hi!" I colored him with Night of Navy Light and Calypso Coral Light Stampin' Blends. I get to see these little guys every day outside my craft room window!

That linen-look background DSP is from the new Nature's Poem pack that will be available starting June 1st. Lots of pretty paper coming soon, but don't forget the paper that is retiring, too. Some things are already sold out!

I hope you will join our sketch challenge this month. I'd love to see what you are inspired to make! The challenge ends May 11th, so you have a couple weeks to get your design uploaded and linked on the My Inky Friends blog.
