CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Summer Flowers

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Summer Flowers. That is one of my favorite things about summer - the bounty of beautiful blooms! (It sure as heck isn't the heat and humidity! 😜) I love roses, but don't love growing them because they can be so persnickety. But paper roses are easy peasy!

I'm using the Charming Day bundle once again. There is so much to love about it! It will be available online on Tuesday, July 1st. I die cut the roses in Basic White and colored them with Strawberry Slush, Pretty in Pink, and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. They were adhered to the Basic White layer that was embossed and then die cut. That layer is popped up on Strawberry Slush Flower Garden Foil matted on Basic Black.

The popped up greeting was die cut with an Unbounded Love die, and a Strawberry Slush "faux bow" added.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF875

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is a sketch, and it gave me a chance to color another image from the Charming Day bundle that will be released as a July Online Exclusive.

I kind of liked the color combination in the sketch, so I went with Petunia Pop and Smoky Slate, with a little Mossy Meadow for the leaves.

To make the Florals In Bloom DSP pop a little more, it was matted on Blackberry Bliss. I used Blackberry Bliss for the center of the flower, as well. The three background panels were embossed with the Pressed Flowers folder before being cut with a Textured Notes die.

Measurements

  • Card base: Smoky Slate 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored/folded at 4-1/4"
  • Background panels: Petunia Pop and Basic White die cut with 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" die
  • DSP: Florals In Bloom 1-7/8" x 4"
  • Mat: Blackberry Bliss 2" x 4-1/8"
  • Greeting: Smoky Slate 1/2" x 4-1/2"

CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Birthday Wishes

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is birthdays. I love the new Charming Day Bundle that coming July 1st in the Online Exclusives! Not only does it have pretty florals (and dies to match), but a nice set of sentiments, too.

I colored the roses with Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink, and Granny Apple Green. They are such cheerful, summery colors! After die cutting the roses, I used another die from that set to cut the white sprigs.

The greeting was stamped in a Textured Notes die cut, and popped up on the Damask Designs embossed background. Then the florals were popped up over the greeting panel.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF874

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Cloud Cover, Cajun Craze, and Petal Pink. I'll admit I was stumped at first with this color combination. They just didn't seem to go together in my mind. But after playing around with different things for a bit, this card just fell into place! Plus it gave me the opportunity to add some shine with the Flower Garden Foils Specialty Paper. 😊

On the Cloud Cover card base I stamped the Blooming Phrases greeting with Cajun Craze ink, then stamped the three flowers, stems, and leaves on 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" Petal Pink squares.

A 1-7/8" x 5-1/2" strip of Cajun Craze was adhered to the card. On top of that was adhered the strip of Cloud Cover foil specialty paper. I debated whether to use the floral or geometric pattern, and decided the geometric pattern was less "busy", and perfect for this CAS card.

The squares were popped up with dimensionals, and Petal Pink low-profile dots were added for more subtle shine.
