Nothing's Better Than....

...New stamps! Well, maybe a new puppy or baby or something like that. But I tell ya, I just love it when Mr. Brown drives down our driveway (driving the dog crazy, LOL) and delivers a box full of fun new goodies!

This new bundle consists of the photopolymer set called, wait for it....Nothing's Better Than, and the coordinating Love You More Than Dies. They are on page 91 of the annual catalog.

I hadn't planned to get this set, but the more I saw it, the more that Fifties Retro vibe appealed to me. I mean, can't you just see a housewife in her shirtwaist dress with the fitted bodice and wide skirt, wearing high heels and pearls, pouring coffee from the percolator? 😄

Anyhow, this is just a real fun set to have around because, cookies! And chocolate!! And coffee!!! And adult beverages!!!! Nothing's better than that, right?

Here are a couple more samples provided by the Stampin' Up! concept artists (what a dream job). If you are interested, contact me and I'll send a PDF with the instructions for the cards below.

Coffee Café CAS

Quick post today. Mom is going home tomorrow, so I'm trying to spend as much time as I can with her. It will be four months before I get to see her again!

This is a CAS card made with the Coffee Café Photopolymer bundle. It's showing one of my favorite drinks from a certain coffee company that isn't within 50 miles of me. (I'm looking at you, Starbucks!) I do miss the occasional splurge of that frosty, creamy Mocha Frap during hot summer days. *Sigh* Probably better that it isn't an easy drive, for both my waistline and my wallet.

The background is Coffee Break DSP (4" x 5-1/4") on a Crumb Cake card base. After stamping the whipped cream with Sahara Sand and die cutting it, I used a thin bead of liquid glue to hold it to the mocha. The mocha was cut twice - once from Crumb Cake, and once from a window sheet. They are held together with a couple of glue dots under the greeting.

The clear lid was also cut from a window sheet. You have to get creative when hiding the adhesive, so a very thin line of liquid glue was run along a couple of edges of the whipped cream, and the lid was carefully placed on and left to dry. Coffee beans stamped in Early Espresso, die cut and popped up on mini dimensionals. Straw die cut from Garden Green.

Mmmmm, I'm dreaming of a cool, creamy beverage......

Newton's BFF-day Wishes

Sometimes you need to put a little something extra into the birthday wishes for a special someone. My BFF is catching up with me in the age department (for the next three months, anyway!), and I wanted to send her some extra special birthday wishes from me and Da Punk. (Oh, and my hubby and the dog, too, of course!) I tucked a Starbucks gift card inside, and sent it along with a few stamping goodies I thought she might like. Her birthday isn't until next week, but I thought we should start the celebrating early!

Smiley from Millan.Net

The stamps are from Newton's Nook, colored with Copics, and the stitched rectangle is from Lawn Fawn. But everything else is Stampin' Up!

Coffee - ALWAYS a Good Idea!

I know it's Thursday, and I don't usually post on days that begin with T, but I just couldn't wait to share this card! It was inspired by two challenges - this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and the cue word "Coffee" from CASology. Newton's Nook has a stamp set with an adorable kitty and coffee theme that was purr-fect for these challenges! The FMS259 sketch made it so quick and easy to throw together.

Does this punk kitty, remind you of anyone? LOL  I'm getting a little better at coloring ginger cats! I used Copic Sketch Markers* for coloring the image.
