CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fave New In Color

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is our Favorite New In Color. Surprisingly, I've become infatuated with Pale Papaya - at least for this week, LOL!

I needed to make a birthday card for a friend in Florida, and wanted to use the Pansy Petals DSP because of that lovely Pale Papaya gingham. I didn't even need to stamp the pansies - they are on one of the patterns in the pack and fit the coordinating Pansy Dies! The only stamping was the Happy Birthday on front and the sentiment inside.

Did you notice the brushed gold metallic specialty paper behind the pansies? It has a beautiful texture, similar to the now-retired Subtle 3D embossing folder. The gold really sets off the Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral pansies.

I added some Pale Papaya and White 1/2" Ribbon backed with some Very Vanilla 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim to make the card extra feminine. The pansy centers were topped with matching rhinestones from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels

CCM Saturday Hop - Evergreen

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is shades of green and two of the new In Colors, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent, are perfect for this! I used both on this card, along with other new goodies and some old favorites. This birthday card would work for a man or a woman!

I began with an Evening Evergreen card base and added a Tasteful Textile 3D embossed white background (3-3/4" x 5"). The scalloped background for the Evening Evergreen fern frond was cut with one of the Scalloped Contours Dies from Soft Succulent cardstock.

The greeting was stamped in Evening Evergreen and then cut with another die from the Scalloped Contours Dies and popped up on dimensionals over a loop of gold cord (Simply Elegant Trim). A few Genial Gems completed the card.

That's my share for today. Now click the Next button to jump to Libby Fens at Libby Stamps, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner has made!

First Friday Fun Fold - Easel Card

Tomorrow is my birthday, so I thought an easel birthday card would be fun to make. (Plus I can add it to the "40 pile", LOL.) Today I'm using a brand new, not-yet-released bundle from the 2021 Annual Catalog! Demos get to preorder this month, AND it will be available to customers next month as an early release!!!

Here are the cast of characters used on today's card:

OOPS, I didn't use Bermuda Bay cardstock! Just ignore it.

  • Flowering Cactus photopolymer stamp set - card front greeting
  • Approaching Perfection cling stamp set - inside sentiment (SAB freebie!)
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad
  • Thick Basic White and Basic Black cardstock
  • Butterfly Bijou 6" x 6" DSP
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, Brilliant Wings Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Ornate Frames Dies
  • Matte Black Dots

Also needed are basics like Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Seal, Tear & Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and Stampin' Dimensionals.

  1. Score large Basic White cardstock at 4-1/4" and 6-3/8".

  2. Fold card base in half, then fold front back to form a Z.

  3. Add two strips of Tear & Tape to the flap as shown, then adhere the 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" white cardstock to the flap, forming the card front.

  4. Adhere both DSPs to their mats.

  5. Attach the front DSP/mat to the front of the card base.

  6. Do the same for the inside of the card.

  7. Decorate the card front as desired. (Flowers would be lovely! Or use the butterflies in Butterfly Gala or Butterfly Wishes. OR join my team and choose the preorder goodies in your starter kit! 😃)

  8. Stamp the inside greeting and add something popped up on dimensionals to prop the card open.

SOTW Punch Party (Again)

This is the last card for this week's spotlight on Punch Party, and it's another one to add to the growing pile of 40 birthday cards. I did a Bermuda Bay watercolor wash on the Fluid 100 watercolor paper, let it dry, then embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D folder. It was matted on Basic Black and adhered to the Bermuda Bay card base.

The flower and greeting were stamped on a scrap of the same paper, colored with Stampin' Write Markers, and punched with the Double Oval Punch.

Some leaves from Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper were added behind the popped-up greeting, along with a few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to complete the card.

Measurements

  • Bermuda Bay card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  • Basic Black mat 3-5/8" x 4-7/8"
  • Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper 3-1/2" x 4-3/4"
