Saturday Whimsical Christmas

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is "Whimsical Christmas" and I think the gnomes in Gnome for the Holidays are about as whimsical as can be!

It's so amusing to me that I like this set because I am so NOT into cutesy things. But the images just really captivated me, for some reason, and this couple is adorable.

They look like she just baked some cookies and is inviting us in for tea, and he is in the middle of decorating the tree. I think the mistletoe on his cap is so endearing, too.

That's my share for today. Now click the Next button to jump to Libby Fens at Libby Stamps, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner made!

Look, Ma, No Stamping!

Tomorrow is the last day for the 15% off Designer Series Paper sale, so I thought I'd whip up a cute card using only DSP. Trimming the Town DSP is one of the ones on sale, and the images in it make building a scene a breeze. Especially since the Home Together Dies fit many of the DSP images!

And to make it even easier, there's a whole sheet of greetings (in English, French, and German) so you don't even have to stamp a sentiment.

All I did was cut the snowy hill from Whisper White and adhered it to the mountain scene. The I die cut the house, trees, and greeting and adhered them with glue or mini dimensionals. Some Snowflake Adhesive-Backed Embellishments finished the card.

Stamp Review Crew - Wrapped In Christmas

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Wrapped In Christmas edition! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Kelly's blog, My Papercraft Journey, welcome! There are only three of us today, so it will be a short hop, but one filled with inspiration!

The Wrapped In Christmas cling stamp set is filled with nine sentiments (and a small design) suitable for the holidays, and coordinates with the Warm Hugs stamp & die bundle; all part of the Heartwarming Hugs Suite.

I LOVE the Heartwarming Hugs DSP and wanted to use it to show off the sentiments (with some die cuts). Oh, and a little embossing on this first card. 😊

I used a little copper foil for the greeting's mat to coordinate with the copper stars. That's the only bling, can you believe it?! The next card has a wee bit more.

This greeting just really gets right to the heart of the matter, doesn't it? It gave me warm fuzzies, so I had to use it. The little tree is from the Warm Hugs set, which is photopolymer, so I inked it using sponge daubers to get a crisp image.

That's my share for today, so jump on over to see what Mike at Stampin' Style has made!

Hello!

My mom is visiting for a couple weeks, so if my posts become intermittent, that's why. We decided that since neither of us have the virus and we never go anywhere, it would be safe for her to come and visit. We missed our regular visit in May, and she's 85 years old and I didn't want to wait any longer! The timing is perfect, too, because we are almost at the peak of Fall colors now. 💛

I tried something a little different with this card - I colored the background with Light Soft Sea Foam so the flower would appear white. I did cheat a little on the flower's shading, though. The Gray Granite and Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends were too dark, even the light Blends, so I pulled out my Copics for the shadows in the petals (W00 and W1).

To get the leaf to hang off the edge of the Stitched So Sweetly die cut, I snipped partway up on either side of the leaf then slid the die up snug, having the leaf on the outside of the cutting surface. The gold heat-embossed grid is from Comfort & Hope and the Mossy Meadow greeting is from Life Is Beautiful.
