Birthday Class

This is another of the cards we made in last Friday's birthday card class. And, I must say, it looks rather "classy", don't you agree?  I was inspired by a card on Pinterest (I think), and now I can't find it for the life of me, so if you see a similar card, please let me know who made it so I can give proper credit.
ETA: Found it on Splitcoast HERE

We used a retired stamp on the card, because it matched the Best of Flowers current stamp that was used inside:

It's kind of hard to see in the photo (click to enlarge), because it was stamped with Illuminate Glimmer Watermark ink, which gives the most subtle, shimmery effect. Just gorgeous in real life!

Stamps: Upsy Daisy (retired), Blooming With Kindness (greeting), Best of Flowers
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP, Champagne Glimmer
Ink: VersaMark, Basic Black, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Illuminate Glimmer
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Nestabilities (because my Circle Framelits don't arrive until tomorrow), Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, 1" Circle Punch, Stampin' Sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

I Can't Stop Sponging!

Help....I'm stuck in sky-sponging mode!!!  It's such a neat effect, so today I tried a night sky look, with a big ol' shimmery moon.

Another card is going in my new stack of cards for Operation Write Home!  I love how the sentiment says "Remember Me".  It was stamped in Night of Navy first, then on a scrap in Real Red.  The "me" was cut out and popped up on a Stampin' Dimensional for dramatic effect. :-)

Here is the rest of that stamp set - So Sorry, Get Together, Remember Me, Our Journey, and Marvelous Us - how clever is that?!
In a Word (W-117143, C-120057) is a really a versatile stamp set, and it's only available in the Summer Mini catalog until the end of this month!  It can be used for scrapbooking, as well as card making, because the words are a good size and won't get lost on the page.

RAMBLINGS

Couple of quick notes here, as I come up for air from my stamping frenzy.  First, I want to remind everyone about the Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Mega Hop tomorrow, showcasing goodies from the newly released SU Idea Book & Catalog!  I'll be featuring the Countryside stamp set; doesn't it just give you a homey feeling?  No, not homey as in home-boy.....sheesh.  I love old cars and trucks, and this truck just really appeals to me.  It ap-peels to me, too, get it?

THANKS, FRIEND

Just a quick card today.  I have to get my samples made for a workshop coming up. The colors aren't right (again); the background patterned paper is Sahara Sand, not that putrid grey.  If you click on it, the enlarged picture looks closer to the true colors.

I think the Bermuda Bay stamped image works well with the Sage Shadow DSP matted behind it.  Of course, it looks much better IRL!

This would make a great Father's Day or masculine birthday card, too, dontcha think?

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you all have a great week.  Don't forget to check out the Clearance Rack on my Stampin' Up! website.  There are some great deals to be had, and they won't last long!!!
