Under My Umbrella

This seemed like an appropriate card to send to my friend who let me play with her Under My Umbrella bundle, don't you think? (Yes, it's true - I don't have every single item in the new Jan-Jun Mini catalog, can you believe it? Not yet, anyway. LOL)

I stamped a bunch umbrellas and handles, and punched them out to be colored and used later. Here's a handy hint - if you have a builder punch, punch a scrap piece of cardstock to use as a template for positioning your stamps, and store it in the stamp case for future use. Just line up the stamps (face down) in the openings and press a clear block on them for quick and easy multiple stamping.

One punch and done! I do wish there was a punch for those little flowers! That was a lot of fussy cutting, but I think the result was worth it.

The greeting was die cut with a Stitched So Sweetly die, but it didn't really show up on the Best Dressed DSP, so I sponged a little Pool Party behind to make it more noticeable.

Daisy Lane Black-eyed Susans

Black-eyed Susans are blooming all around here right now, and they always make me smile when I see them. I knew that I could duplicate them using the Daisy Lane stamp set, coordinating Medium Daisy Punch, and Perennial Essence Floral Centers, so this was one of the cards we made in Saturday's Stamp Club.

Start by dyeing the fuzzy flower centers with an Early Espresso ink pad. Grab the adhesive dimensional on the back side with tweezers and press the fuzzy side onto the ink pad several times to get the coverage you want. Set aside to dry, or dry with a Heat Tool on the low setting.

Stamp four of the medium daisies in Daffodil Delight ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock and punch them out with the Medium Daisy Punch. Glue one daisy over the other, offsetting the petals, so that you have two complete daisies. Stamp the daisy stem twice on the DSP using Mossy Meadow ink, and color with a Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blend marker.

Stamp the greeting in Early Espresso, adhere the DSP to the card base and glue the daisies on. Add the fuzzy centers, and a few Noble Peacock Rhinestones, and you're done!

Good Morning Magnolia, Again

Heart's Delight Cards, Good Morning Magnolia, Friendship, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Stampin' Up!

Happy Mother's Day! My mom has been here visiting us for the past week, and will be here for another week before she has to go back home. It's been a special treat to have her here for Mother's Day. I made two cards for her; one with a zinger, and another more sentimental one. I also gave her a book, and had everything arranged on the table when she came in to breakfast.

THIS card was made for a stamping friend, who is as addicted to stamps and ink as I am. It sure is fun having someone to play with who shares your passion! Since I chose the Magnolia Lane DSP for the background, I didn't want to cover it up with the large magnolia image, so I used the magnolia bud and matching die.

I am totally smitten with the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon! I swore I wasn't going to buy any more ribbon until I used up some of my (very) extensive ~~hoard~~ stash, but as soon as I saw it, I had to get it. I admit it, I have no will power! Ahhhhh well, it's all good, and it will last forever or at least until the zombie apocalypse, LOL!

Beauty Abounds in Our Friendship!

I'm feeling Spring-y, how about you? While I had the Beauty Abounds stamp set out last weekend I put together another card, this time with some fresh Spring colors!

The large and small bubble clusters (for lack of a better description) in this stamp set makes custom backgrounds so easy! I used Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Highland Heather stamped randomly on a piece of cardstock.

The floral swirl was stamped in Mossy Meadow, then the leaves were colored with the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends and the blossoms with Light Calypso Coral. The greeting was also stamped in Mossy Meadow and after die cutting, it was adhered to a So Saffron piece punched with the Story Label Punch. A piece of Whisper White Flax and Gorgeous Grape Striped Mini Ribbon completed the card.

I don't know if you are aware of the fine print on the back of the Stampin' Up! catalogs that says "Product availability may be limited toward the end of the catalog sales period." While the stamps and ink pads are manufactured here in the United States by Stampin' Up! many, if not most, of the other products are imported. This can create supply issues, especially when items are much more popular than they were forecast to be. Some of the Sale-a-Bration freebies are sold out, as well as some of the SAB Coordination items, and already some things in the Occasions catalog!

To make a long story short (I know...too late!), if there is something you really want when a new seasonal catalog or SAB flyer comes out, don't wait and figure you'll save it for later. It may not be available when you want it.
