Another Sneak Peek at the Mini!

This is another card with the Swirly Frames that the Stamp Review Crew featured a couple days ago. This one uses the Tropical Oasis Suite that is on page 39 of the Jan-Jun 2020 Mini Catalog, and it starts FRIDAY!!!

I just love the old woodie wagons in the Tropical Oasis DSP! I have a vague memory of my paternal grandfather owning a woodie when I was very young (many decades ago). I chose the larger rectangle frame to spotlight the wagon, cutting it out with Stitched Rectangles, and then backing it up with two other prints from the same DSP pack.

"Wooden" this make a great masculine birthday card? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Honey Bee Sneak Peek

We made this card at the Second Saturday Stamp Club earlier this month, using the soon to be released Honey Bee stamp set and coordinating Detailed Bee Dies. The only stamping was the bee hive and greeting!

The Golden Honey Specialty DSP that we used will be available in the Sale-A-Bration flyer that starts January 3rd. It's a beautiful pack with gold foil accents. The little bee and flower images have dies that match, so all we had to do was cut them out with the dies - no stamping needed!

We did add some Clear Wink of Stella to the bee's wings for a little shimmer, kind of like a real bee would have. The Honey Bee cling stamp set has some lovely sentiments and I really like the fonts they used!

Next month, if you buy the bundle (saving 10%), and a pack of cardstock, you would qualify for the free Golden Honey Specialty DSP. Trust me, you are going to want that DSP, and I have a feeling it will be one of the first things that they run out of, since it's always "while supplies last."

2020 Mini Catalog & Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peek!

Thought I'd tease you just a teeny bit with a tiny tantalizing taste of an upcoming Sale-A-Bration stamp set! Heehee, ain't I a stinker?

The cake is from the SAB set, and the greeting is from First Frost. Notice that Coastal Weave 3D embossed background? Hmmmm, I wonder what that could be from..... and those Champagne Rhinestone Basic jewels, too.

Oh, and don't forget the Online Extravaganza ends tomorrow!

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek Unboxing!

Okay y'all, I just made my very first video, of the holiday catalog preorder unboxing. Between the rumbles of thunder, and Pumpkin (Da Punk) trying to walk through everything, it's not very refined. But I hope you enjoy it, nonetheless! Lots of sneak peeks of coming distractions, LOL!!!

A Little Lace Sneak Peek

The Stitched Lace Dies, part of the A Little Lace bundle in the 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! catalog will be available to order on June 4th. They immediately caught my eye because the lace is so reminiscent of eyelet lace, which has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. It's a large die so you can do an entire card front with it, too!

That was my original plan until Pumpkin discovered the die cut on my desk. I had turned my back for just a minute, and the next thing I knew the little booger had it on the floor and was munching away on it. Have I mentioned my cat, who doesn't like catnip, can't resist die cuts? I have to be careful not to leave anything out!

Anyway, lucky for me, the second die is for cutting the border so I was able to salvage some of it. I made a Pool Party watercolor wash on watercolor paper and adhered the lace. The image from A Little Lace was colored with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut, then popped up on dimensionals. The greeting was swiped from Butterfly Wishes (love the mixed fonts!) and popped up over some Organdy Striped Ribbon.

The card was completed by using a Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend to color the Clear Faceted Gem for the medium flower center and adding a couple Petal Pink Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Good Morning Magnolia Sneak Peek

I finally had another chance to play with my pre-preorder, and this time I grabbed the Good Morning Magnolia bundle. I knew as soon as I saw it in the catalog, that it was going on my list because the magnolia was going to be SO. MUCH. FUN. to color! And I was right!!!

The blossom was first heat embossed in gold on watercolor paper, then painted using an Aqua Painter and Rococo Rose and Mossy Meadow ink pads. After it was fully dry, I used a Blender Pen to add some more detail to the flower.

The background was a Mint Macaron watercolor wash, which was cut out with Rectangle Stitched Framelits. Some of the Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon was added, as well as Sahara Sand Basic Adhesive Sequins. The fancy end of the greeting banner was created with the Detailed Trio Punch. I cut the end in a square so it would fit into the punch properly.

Piece of Cake Sneak Peek

There is the CUTEST bundle coming next month! It's a stamp set with six different cakes, ten greetings, a cake stand, and four accessory images (candles, heart, lollipop bouquet, and floral cake topper).

I needed to whip up a birthday card for a very dear friend and send her a bunch of cakes without the calories, LOL. Her favorite color is blue (no wonder I love her!), so I started by stamping some Balmy Blue cakes randomly on the background piece. I thought that the blue needed another pop of color, so I added some Lemon Lime Twist cakes, too. Mmmmmm, lemon cake.....

Where was I? Oh yeah, the background was embossed with the Subtle Dynamic folder and adhered to the card base. To make the main cake image really stand out, it was stamped on Balmy Blue cardstock with Pacific Point ink and then punched with the Cake Builder Punch and adhered to a stitched circle background on top of a silver doily. Of course, I had to add a dainty bow to the cake stand and some clear glitter epoxy dots to make it special!
