The Stamp Review Crew - Honey Bee

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2020/02/HB.html

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Honey Bee edition! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Charlet's blog, Painted Orange, welcome! There are seven of us today, so follow the links for more inspiration.

I think Honey Bee is the sweetest stamp set (pun intended) in the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog! The images are wonderful, and with the coordinating Detailed Bee Dies the creative possibilities are nearly endless.

The idea to make a Honey Bee shaker card came to me as I was going to sleep last week and, miraculously, I remembered it when I awoke! Instead of the more traditional yellow and black, I thought using Highland Heather would make for a nice Spring-y card. I'm ready for warmer weather, how about you?

The hive was cut in the card front first, then the opening was used as a template for stamping the hive image. The gold foil honeycomb is sandwiched between the card front and the window sheet so the sequins won't get caught. (Speaking of sequins, I used tweezers to pick the coordinating colors out of the Woven Threads Sequin Assortment and the Peaceful Poppies Sequins. Talk about nit-picking!)

Those cute little bees were die cut from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP, with some Daffodil Delight added to their bums and Clear Wink of Stella to their wings. I wish you could see the subtle shimmer!

For the next card I used the large die cut bee from the DSP and also added WOS to the wings. After watercolor washing the background and letting it thoroughly dry, the daisy image (Daisy Lane) was stamped and colored with an Aqua Painter.

The Balmy Blue embossed background was adhered to the card base, and a strip of striped DSP was added to the black matted image, then fastened to the card.

The bee was popped up on a dimensional, and some Balmy Blue Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins were added for more sparkle.

That is my share for today. I hope you got some ideas for your own projects! Up next is Holly, the Rubber Redneck. Can't wait to see what she made!

Honey Bee Sneak Peek

Heart's Delight Cards, Honey Bee, Detailed Bee Dies, 2020 Jan-June Mini Catalog, Sneak Peek, Stampin' Up!

We made this card at the Second Saturday Stamp Club earlier this month, using the soon to be released Honey Bee stamp set and coordinating Detailed Bee Dies. The only stamping was the bee hive and greeting!

The Golden Honey Specialty DSP that we used will be available in the Sale-A-Bration flyer that starts January 3rd. It's a beautiful pack with gold foil accents. The little bee and flower images have dies that match, so all we had to do was cut them out with the dies - no stamping needed!

We did add some Clear Wink of Stella to the bee's wings for a little shimmer, kind of like a real bee would have. The Honey Bee cling stamp set has some lovely sentiments and I really like the fonts they used!

Next month, if you buy the bundle (saving 10%), and a pack of cardstock, you would qualify for the free Golden Honey Specialty DSP. Trust me, you are going to want that DSP, and I have a feeling it will be one of the first things that they run out of, since it's always "while supplies last."
