Making Progress (and a Card!)
The craft room organization is coming along, slowly but surely. Today was spent labeling embossing folders and filing them in their organizer bin. These bins are the perfect size for the regular embossing folders and regular size Framelits/Thinlits in their plastic sleeves!
I take the embossing folders out of the package they come in (unless there's more than one in the pack), label them with their name, and file alphabetically. The Framelits and Thinlits get peeled off that gawdawful tape they are stuck on and an adhesive magnetic sheet* is added over the tape side of the tagboard insert. Then the whole thing is put back in the plastic sleeve, with the Framelits showing.
* I cut the 8.5" x 11" sheets into quarters for the regular size inserts. For the larger die sets in the big envelopes, I can get two 5-1/2" x 6" per sheet, and the leftover strip can be cut in half and used, too.
Since Stampin' Up! has the name of the dies on the envelope flap, I just file them "backward" so the name shows, along with the actual dies. It sure helps to see them when I can't remember if it was the Labels Framelits or Lots of Labels Framelits I was going to use!
When a new catalog comes out, and I have new goodies, I keep them at the front of the bin for easy access, with a little chipboard separator. Once they aren't so new anymore, they get moved back into alphabetical order.
And now, here's a quick card, using the upcoming Sale-A-Bration set called Tasty Truck. This one is really fun to color with the new Watercolor Pencils and blender pens!

Special Reason Occasions Sneak Peek
We had a wonderful Christmas; now it's time to get my Thank You cards sent! This week is going to be spent cleaning and organizing my craft room and, hopefully, getting a camera stand set up for taking pics of projects in progress (photo tutorials!), and maybe....just maybe, videos as well. IF I can get over my nervousness about that, and IF I can get past disliking the sound of my own voice, and IF I can keep Pumpkin out of the middle of it. Pretty tall order, right?
So anyway, here is a quick Thank You card that uses our awesome note cards. Did you know you can get 20 pre-scored cards and 20 envelopes for just six bucks?! And the cards a bit heavier weight than the regular Whisper White cardstock, too. They are available in Crumb Cake, as well.
Here's the "How To"
Die-cut flower panel: Whisper White 3" x 3-1/8"
Mat: Bermuda Bay 3-1/8" x 3-1/4"
Leaves: Pear Pizzazz scraps
Card base: Note card
- Die cut the largest blossom from Stylish Stems Framelits in the Whisper White. Wrap baker's twine around bottom and tie in a bow toward the left side.
- Attach to the Bermuda Bay mat with Stampin' Dimensionals, and then adhere to card base 3/8" from top.
- Stamp smaller leaf veins from Special Reason stamp set in Old Olive ink on Pear Pizzazz scraps. Die cut with smallest leaf outline, and sponge more Old Olive ink around edges. Adhere to blossom panel with liquid glue.
- Stamp greeting (this one is from the new Thankful Life Hostess set) in Bermuda Bay ink below blossom.

No Special Reason for the Sneal Peek!
Yikes! I was so busy baking, candy making, wrapping, and designing cards for the Control Freaks swap (that have to go postal TOMORROW!), that I almost forgot to blog today. Sorry if you been checking and wondering what the heck happened. I'll yell ya what happened - LIFE! Sometimes it gets in the way of crafting, lol.
Anyhoo, I looked in my Box o' Useful Bits, and pulled out the embossed background and gold die cut flower, and went from there. Easy and elegant, if I do say so myself! And since I REALLY need to finish those swaps, I'm not doing a "How To" tonight.
I hope you are farther ahead in the game than I am, and aren't stressing about the holiday!

Hey, Chick! PPC223
Here's a fun card for Paper Craft Crew's challenge #223. I think the Hey, Chick stamp set in the upcoming SAB brochure is the bees knees, and just had to use this hen that was hanging out in my Box o' Useful Bits. I didn't need her for a previous project, but she's perfect for this one! Doesn't that linen thread look kind of like straw? I can just picture the "girls" scratching around in it!
This is the sketch challenge this week:
Here's the "How To"
Chicken: Shimmery White 3" x 3"
Greeting: Scrap of Shimmery White 1/2" x 2"
Scalloped mat: *cut from center of R.R. mat*
"Chicken wire": Whisper White 3-1/4" x 5-1/8"
DSP: Neutrals DSP Stack 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"
Mat*: Real Red 4" x 5-1/4"
Card base: Crumb Cake 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
- Stamp chicken on shimmery white, color, and die cut with second largest circle in Stitched Shapes Framelits. Stamp greeting on strip and cut banner ends.
- Die cut center of Real Red mat with third largest scalloped circle Framelit. (Hole will be covered.) Adhere chicken to scalloped mat.
- Stamp chicken wire pattern as described above on Whisper White.
- Adhere chicken wire to DSP. Wrap twine around and tie a bow, then adhere to Real Red mat and attach all to card base.
- Cut several lengths of Linen Thread and tie in the middle. Attach to card with glue dot.
- Fasten chicken to card with dimensionals and greeting underneath with dimensionals.
