Stamp Review Crew - Sale-A-Bration Part 2

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Sale-A-Bration second edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Betty's blog, Kitty Stamp, welcome! There are seven of us today, and Sale-A-Bration is winding down until next year, so be sure to check out all the inspiring projects from the crew!

Yesterday was the "February birthdays" celebration at our house. My daughter's birthday is one week after mine, and my husband's birthday is one week after hers, so we had one big celebration. This week just completely got away from me so I only have one card to share today. I chose the Thanks A Bunch stamp set and challenged myself to use it in a different way.

I thought the large carrot, turned around, looked somewhat like a palm tree trunk, and the large leaf like palm fronds so I made a little scene from them. The grass is the leaf's shadow stamp. And I found the sentiment to be hilariously appropriate!

Did you notice the embossing? That's from the Basics 3D embossing folder set coming next month!

That's all from me, so click "Next" to see what Jay over at Mitosu Crafts created, or "Previous" to visit Betty again. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Watercolor Hello

Since I had the watercolor paper and water brushes out, and I had so much fun painting this image that I used in the Stamp Review Crew hop, I decided to do another in a different color palette. I used StazOn Jet Black to stamp the tiered planter, instead of the Saddle Brown used before.

I've really been in a Spring color mood, so this time I used purples and yellows with a gray planter. The gray represents the gloomy gray weather we've been having. (Not really, but it sounded good, right? šŸ˜„) Our daffodils are sprouting and will be blooming soon. They're the bright yellow harbingers of Spring here on the farm, and I can't wait!

Because I loved the image so much, and wanted it to be the focal point, I just used a narrow black mat behind it, and popped it up on a wider Gray Granite mat, which was then popped up on the card base. No embellishments - just let the image carry the card.

Measurements

  • Watercolor paper 2 3/8" x 3 1/2"
  • Basic Black mat 2 1/2" x 3 5/8"
  • Gray Granite mat 2 7/8" x 4"
  • Gray Granite card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored & folded at 4 1/4"

Beautifully Happy About Sale-A-Bration

Here is another card using the Beautifully Happy stamp set on page 13 of the SAB brochure. I started by blending Mango Melody lightly on some Basic White cardstock, then embossed it with the new Cane Weave 3D folder (pg. 31 J-A mini). It was trimmed down and matted on another piece of Basic White, then adhered to the Fresh Freesia card base.

The flowers and bee were stamped in Basic Gray. This time I used the filler stamps instead of coloring the flowers with Blends. It sure goes a lot quicker! After coloring the bee (I did use Blends on it) everything was fussy cut and popped up on the Cane Weave background.

The greeting is from Go To Greetings and was die cut with one of the Something Fancy Dies (pg. 15 J-A mini). All in all, a fairly quick and easy card!

Measurements

  • Card base: Fresh Freesia 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  • Mat: Basic White 3-5/8" x 4-7/8"
  • Embossed piece: Basic White 3-3/8" x 4-5/8"
  • Image & greeting: Basic White 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Happy Dance Time!

Today's the day that the new Jan-Apr mini catalog begins, AND Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion of the year... Sale-A-Bration!

Since I'm kind of a crazy cat lady, I HAD to get the Love Cats set on page 13. They are adorably cute, and not just for Valentines either.

I made this card for a friend's daughter who just turned seven, and she loved it! That DSP is one of the SAB freebies with a qualifying order. There are forty-eight 12 x 12 sheets (4 ea. of 12 designs) in the Dandy Designs pack!

If you have ordered from me in the past year, you should have your new catalog and SAB brochure by now. If you don't, please let me know and I'll pop one in the mail right away. Meanwhile, you can see the catalog PDFs by clicking the links on the left.

And if your wish list is longer than your budget, check out the deal on page 18 of the SAB brochure! There are THREE starter kit offers and all of them include an extra $30 in product with free shipping.
