Team Meeting & a Sneak Peek

This is the card we made at my downline meeting last night. We used the Summer Smooches DSP, which is so bright and cheerful - I just LOVE it!  If you join Stampin' Up!, you can pre-order this paper (and a bunch of other stuff) now; if you are a customer, you'll have to wait until April 1st for the promotion to start. (For more details, click on the top button on the left.)
This is a Joy Fold card, with the top flap option. (If you scroll down the SCS tutorial, you'll find the measurements for this option right under the YouTube video.) The top flap is held in place by a 1" circle, stamped, popped up on a dimensional, and barely peeking out from under the blossom.

There are actually two sneak peeks on this card - the Summer Smooches DSP and the Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brads!

Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Perfect Punches
Cardstock: Island Indiso, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink: Island Indigo, and Daffodil Delight Classic
Accessories: Blossom Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon, Summer Smooches Fabric Designer Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Busy, Busy, Busy!

What a week it's been! Classes, card-making, and fun, culminating in my daughter and new son-in-law's wedding dinner shindig last night. Since this is a second marriage for both of them, they opted for a private ceremony at the court house yesterday afternoon, with friends and family gathering later at Urbn (tasty pizza!) to celebrate. No big white wedding with gown and tuxedo and cake for them! Been there, done that already.
The happy couple
So, there we were last night, stuffed with salad, pizza, and beer, and suddenly we hear hoots and clapping.  I looked down the table, and the bride and groom had produced their wedding "cake".
Mind you, that is no ordinary candle on top. It's a Lotus flower that opens up to reveal a sparkler!
Now, that's my kind of wedding cake! Since, I'm not overly fond of cake, this was perfect!
Oh, and here is the card I made for the happy couple. I CASEd this card, changing many of the elements.
First of all, the card is 4½ x 6¼.  Since I didn't have the Wedding Sweet stamp set, the Bridesmaid Specialty DSP (retired) was embossed with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate to replicate the swirls. Brushed Gold was substituted for the So Saffron to give more of a formal look, and the rhinestones were left off because it really didn't fit the bride's and groom's personalities. Oh, and a mat was added behind the oval-punched Night of Navy striped DSP to make it pop more.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Getting Closer to CAS

This one is a bit closer to the Clean And Simple look I wanted that would be easy to duplicate.....if only I had enough DSP to do it!  I only need to make 60 cards, that's all.  :-)  Hmmm, maybe use just a scrap of DSP instead of covering the card front?  Back to the drawing board! (pssst - didja notice there isn't any ribbon or rhinestones/pearls?)
Stamp: Perfect Punches
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday DSP, gold foil CS (not SU)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler Classic, VersaMark
Accessories: Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch,1-3/8" Circle Punch

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes (Things Old & New)!

Well, I was a good girl and finished the color change-over in my paper organizer.  Lookie:
I even changed out my markers and insert.  It was a tough job, but it's done!  You may notice a couple of unlabeled slots - I don't have Riding Hood Red or Wild Wasabi yet.  They should be here in a few days, and then my collection will be complete. :-D

So, as a reward for my hard work, I made this cute little card!
I used something old (background paper is from the Welcome Neighbor paper pack from Sale-A-Bration), and somethings new.....the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions embossing folder, the Friends Never Fade stamp set for the flower, and the Perfect Punches stamp set for the greeting.  Oh!  And the new Cherry Cobbler color for the mat and flower (along with Daffodil Delight & Always Artichoke).
