Detailed With Love and Useful Bits

Heart's Delight Cards, Detailed With Love, Share What You Love Suite, Happy Birthday, Stampin' Up!

Since I had some leftover "useful bits" of fussy-cut flowers and a die cut laying around, I thought I would put them together for my granddaughter's birthday card. It boggles my mind that she is nineteen years old today. Holy carp, time sure does fly!

I remember the day she came into the world like it was yesterday. Her mom and dad were staying with us, and my son came in and woke me up to say she was having contractions. It was five weeks before the due date, and outwardly I seemed calm, but inside I was freaking "It's too early, it's too early!" So I calmly told them they might want to go to the hospital and have things checked out.

Well, little Taylor decided she just HAD to make her appearance that day, despite us wanting her to stay in her mommy's tummy a bit longer. She weighed just over 5 pounds, but was healthy, thank goodness! I had never held a baby that tiny before, since my babies were over 8 and 9 pounds at birth. But it was definitely love at first sight, the moment I laid eyes on her. You might think you can never love a child as much as you love your own, but that changes when you have a grandchild!

Bold Birthday

Heart's Delight Cards, Bird Banter, Happy Birthday, Stampin' Up!, Occasions 2018, Sale-A-Bration 2018,

Want to make a card that makes a bold statement? Try this one! All it takes is a piece of Whisper White cardstock, a few Stampin' Blends markers in your choice of colors, and a few minutes of your time. It's very easy to get the ombre effect with the Blends, just make sure your cardstock is well saturated with your first color (I always start with the lightest color), then begin the second color overlapping the first one. You may need to blend a little more with the first color to eliminate the line between the two.

Continue adding new colors, overlapping each one and blending to make the transition between each color as smooth as possible. Once it's finished, let it dry (this only takes a few minutes), and the use the Happy Birthday Thinlits die to cut it out. I added a fussy cut hat and balloon from Bird Banter and adhered it all on a Tutti-Frutti card front that was cut down to leave a border. Simple, yet it certainly gets the message across!

Happy Birthday, Quick & Cute!

This is one of the cards we made in yesterday's stamp club. The Powder Pink in the Fresh Florals DSP is so pretty! Did you notice there is NO STAMPING on this card?! We used the new Happy Birthday Thinlits in place of a stamped greeting.

If you look closely, you can see the Layered Leaves embossing behind the greeting. It's really lovely in real life! You can see more of it on this card.

And check out the In Color Bitty Bow! They are so stinkin' cute, and come already tied (for you bow-challenged people; you know who you are, lol) with an adhesive dot on back..... ready to use!

I need to get out in the garden before it gets too hot, so

Here's the "How To"
 Greeting: Basic Black 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"
 Embossed background: Whisper White 3-1/8" x 3-3/8"
 Mat: Basic Black 3-1/4" x 3-1/2"
 DSP: Fresh Florals 2" x 4-1/4" and 4" x 5-1/4"
 Mats: Basic Black 2-1/8" x 4-3/8" and 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
 Card base: Powder Pink 4-1/4" X 11" scored & folded at 5-1/2"
  1. Adhere DSP to their mats and then to card base.
  2. Emboss Whisper White with Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF and adhere to mat. Attach to card base with dimensionals.
  3. Die cut Happy Birthday from Basic Black and adhere with little dots of liquid glue to embossed background.
And that's all there is to a quick, cute card!
