Control Freaks Spreading Some Love

The Freaky theme this month is Spread Love. If you landed here from Debbie Henderson Designs, welcome! There are six of us today, so there is plenty of love to spread around!

My first thought for this theme was a Valentine, but with that day just passed, I then thought what better way to spread love than to tell someone how much you appreciate them? It's something I don't do enough, and I'm really trying to be better about it.

I chose Eclectic Garden, not only for the perfect sentiment, but because all of the images will work no matter who the card goes to. Plus, they are quick-to-color, and can be even quicker if you're in a hurry and use the filler stamps!

So today I'm going to give this little blue bird of happiness to my long-suffering husband. 😁 I don't tell him nearly often enough how much I appreciate him putting up with me for 48 years.

Up next is Melissa, at Rubber FUNatics. I'm sure she has something LOVEly to share!

Cheery Chirps Joy

I thought I heard some chirps coming from this stamp set on the shelf saying, "Hey, remember me?" I think it was to remind me how sweet and whimsical these little birds are, and what a joy to color.

Even though I had other plans, I couldn't resist the plaintive plea for some love, so I made one of those 'use what you have on your craft table' cards. Yep, everything on this card was sitting in one place or another on my very messy desk. Oh wait, that's not entirely true...the ribbon was neatly tucked into the ribbon holder on the shelf. *shock!*

Anyway, I though it would be a good way to use up some of the crafting debris litter stuff, rather than add more to the overflowing bits box. And it turned out so cute, I made more of them for a swap that I'm in!

Hello Sunshine

I resisted the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits for as long as I could, honest I did! But resistance was futile, and I finally weakened and ordered them. (The Borg were right.) I've just seen so many cute and beautiful cards that use them and besides, one can never have too many dies, right? Gotta keep Mr. Big happy!

When my son was a little boy, I called him Sonshine. That was several decades ago, but he will always be my little boy. I made this card to send to him, for no particular reason other than to say "Hi" and I miss him. I hope it gives him a smile when he opens it.

I love the combination of black and white with a pop of color (red, yellow, or turquoise are great examples), so the sunburst design in the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP stack worked perfectly for this card. The black chevron pattern is in the Pop of Pink DSP pack. I have a hard time using chevron patterns, because looking at them makes my eyes feel wonky. But in small doses, like on this card, it can be tolerable.
