Tomorrow is my sweetie's birthday, and it's one of those milestone birthdays, so I tried to have a little surprise party for him today. It didn't turn out quite as planned (the majority of the invitees had the flu), so it was just a quiet gathering with our two kids, and son-in-law, and plenty o' margaritas.
His comment on the card: "Well, at least it doesn't say anything about being over the hill." Um, honeybunch, yeah, it does.... just not in so many words. (I'm sneaky that way, heh heh.)
Then he said, "That bird looks like it's about to take a big crap on me, though."
Men.....can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em.

For All You Do Quickie Gift

This is a very quick and easy card with a pocket inside to hold a gift card, a bag of tea, or even a little sachet. You can use it for so many occasions!

I came up with the design when I needed some little thank you gifts for the stamp club the last time it was my turn to be the hostess. You can get 2 of these out of one 12" x 12" sheet. (If you click on the template, you should be able to print it out. Your printer will need to be set to "Landscape".)
I stamped the image in SU Old Olive Craft ink and heat embossed it with SU Iridescent Ice EP. Then I inked the edges with Old Olive

Helpful hint: Use Sticky Strip adhesive (aka Terrifically Tacky Tape) on the pocket flaps. Regular Snail adhesive isn't quite strong enough.
(Lord, please give me patience....the neighbors are having a pool party with loud, thumping music.)

Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Dusty Durango and Whisper White, The Paper Co. Linen
Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up! So Saffron DSP
Stamp: Stampin' Up! For All You Do
Ink: Stampin' Up! Old Olive Craft and Classic inks, Soft Suede and Dusty Durango Classic
Accessories/tools: Stampin' Up! Old Olive ¼" grosgrain ribbon, scallop square punch, heat tool, embossing powder, border punch (for inside pocket)

June Card Swap

The theme for this month's Crazy Card Swappers (part of the SU monthly stamp club) was to make a masculine birthday card (for age 16 or older), and we either had to use 3 different punches, or one punch three different ways. What the...?! Well, since I have
I did use the tag punch a bit differently. Instead of punching a tag, I punched a tag-shaped hole and stamped the " 2 U " inside after inking the edges with SU Chocolate Chip craft ink. I also inked the edges of the punched circle and oval with the CC ink. I'm loving that Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper frpm Stampin' Up! It's really nice, heavy textured cardstock, with lovely coplors/patterns. Too bad it's being discontinued, because of the new In Colors coming out.
Anyhoooo, I thought this would do for a young man's birthday. Gosh, I do struggle with masculine cards. Wonder if I will ever outgrow it?
Have a lovely week!
