Hang In There

One of the nice things about being a card maker is I never have to drive to the store and try to choose (from a limited selection) just the right card for whatever the occasion might be. Case in point: I want to send a card to a family member who could use some cheering up, and a "Hang in there".  The stamp set From My Heart had just exactly the greeting and sentiment that I wanted (inside it says 'Hang in there'), and I got to choose the design. How cool is that? Sooo much better than any store-bought, mass-produced, printed card!

Again, the designer paper makes the card. The Venetian Romance DSP has so many completely different designs, yet they all complement each other. Yesterday's card also used Venetian Romance, so you really can see just how versatile it is!

The color in this photo is a little off - the main background is Pistachio Pudding, such a lovely light green. Not at all yellowish, like the photo.

We are now halfway through the 12 Weeks of Christmas for my mailing list subscribers. Don't miss out on the last six weeks of projects! Sign up today (on upper left) and you will get week 7 in your email tomorrow. The projects go out every Wednesday!

Make It Mailable 13-07

Are you in the mood for a fun-fold? This is a quick, easy and MAILABLE card that is sure to bring a smile to the recipient! You can use a light-colored designer paper for the image background, or do what I did and use a background stamp (stamped off once to make it lighter).

Because I used 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, the bow isn't bulky at all, and the rhinestones don't add much bulk, either. To make a Z-fold card base, start with a piece of cardstock cut lengthwise to
4 ¼" x 11", and scored at 2 ¾" and 5 ½".  Fold into the Z shape and add a matted image panel, whatever size suits you (and the image). Voila...a fun, quick card to knock someone's socks off!

Stamps: Timeless Talk, En Français, Lots of Thanks
Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana DSP (2013-2015 In Colors Stack)
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Basic Black
Accessories: Stampin' Trimmer, Bermuda Bay1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones Basic Jewels

Have you signed up for my mailing list yet? If not, you've missed weeks 1 and 2, but you can still get the last 10 weeks! Just click on the form on the upper left sidebar.

Happy New Home, FMS28 and CQC130

My cousin just moved to a new place, and I wanted to create bright, cheerful card to celebrate this happy event. This week's ColourQ Challenge #130 fit the bill perfectly; I couldn't have chosen happier colors!

And (now don't fall off your seat!) I combined it with another challenge, using the fab sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches #28.  As soon as I saw this sketch, I saw a Z-Fold card!

Not having any house-type stamps made it necessary to improvise, but I think the paper-pieced house turned out kinda cute.

So, if you're mojo seems to have left the building, as mine has this week, pop on over to either (or BOTH) of the challenges and get some inspiration!
