CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF838

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, and Poppy Parade. These feel like Fall colors to me, so I used the leaf images and greetings in Iconic Imagery to create the card.

I knew the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder embosses the leaves at an angle, so I stamped the leaves at an angle (on Very Vanilla) as well, before embossing the background.

A strip of Petal Pink Diagonal Stripe Ribbon was adhered before fastening the background panel to the Petal Pink card base.

The large greeting was stamped with Poppy Parade ink on a scrap of Petal Pink, and the smaller greeting with VersaMark on Poppy Parade, then heat embossed in white. After adhering the smaller greeting, they were die cut together. A few Petal Pink Foiled Gems were added before popping it up on dimensionals on the card.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Fall Leaves

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Fall Leaves, and boy have they been falling here! I had the bright idea to use some real leaves and cut them with the Stitched Leaves Dies, but it didn't turn out quite like I had hoped. So on to Plan B - cardstock leaves!

The 3-3/4" x 5" embossed Pale Papaya background is popped up on dimensionals. The greeting was heat embossed on a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Cajun Craze and adhered, then three 3/4" x 3-7/8" strips of DSP (Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze) were glued on top with the left sides even with the embossed background.

The leaves were die cut from Pale Papaya and colored with a Water Painter and ink. They were then over-painted with clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer and popped up on dimensionals. A few Bumblebee Matte Decorative Dots completed the card.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Today is the first day of Autumn; the autumnal equinox, where day and night are in balance. The days are definitely getting shorter because in June I was getting up at 5:45 a.m. to let the chickens out, when it just started getting light. These days I can sleep in until 6:45. 😄 A few more months and I won't be getting up until noon! Okay, that was an exaggeration, but it sure is nice to "sleep in."

I haven't made a Z-fold card in a while, and I don't know why....they are so dang easy. I wanted to make a card to celebrate the first day of my favorite season, so I grabbed an oldy, but goody from the stamp shelf - good ol' Gather Together. I just love that maple leaf AND the fact that it has a matching die so I don't have to fussy cut.

I inked the stamp with sponge daubers in Mango Melody and Poppy Parade, then used the daubers to buff a little color onto the leaf. The Z-fold is just a standard A2 card base that is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored and folded at 4-1/4". But you add an extra score/fold at 2-1/8", folding the front of the card back on itself. I added a Tin Tile embossed panel to the front before popping the leaf up on dimensionals, leaving a bit hanging over the fold. A copper ribbon bow and Holiday Rhinestones finished the front. The inside greeting was stamped in Cinnamon Cider, and the tiny maple leaves (from Beautiful Autumn) were stamped in Pumpkin Pie, stamped off once.

Oh, and by the way, there's a 24 hour stamp sale tomorrow! Click the image below for the list.
