Saturday Welcome Autumn

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is "Welcome Autumn" and I'm almost giddy with anticipation of cool crisp evenings, and balmy days! This weekend we are anticipating our first night-time temps into the 40s. Bring on the sweaters and hot cocoa!!!

I think the Life Is Beautiful stamp set is perfect for any season, but especially for Fall. I used sponge daubers to add Mango Melody and Poppy Parade ink to the leaves stamp and stamped it twice - the leaves haven't really started to fall just yet!

The bottom 3/4" was trimmed from the card front so the Plaid Tidings DSP could show. The image panel was cut to fit the card front and embossed with the Subtle folder after stamping the tree and leaves. A scattering of Sequins For Everything finished the card. I love how there are four separate color groups for the sequins!

That's my share for today. Now click the Next button to jump to Libby Fens at Libby Stamps, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner made!

Life is (Still) Beautiful!

Still loving this stamp set from Million Dollar Achiever LeeAnn Greff! Fall is in the air, and I'm already thinking about winter. 😄

This is a super simple card to make. The tree was inked by sponge dauber in Soft Suede and stamped on Whisper White (4-1/8" x 5-3/8") then embossed with the Subtle 3D folder. The felt snow was a leftover piece from something cut previously.

All I needed to add was the greeting (Wrapped in Christmas) and lots of Adhesive-backed Snowflakes. These snowflakes are iridescent with a pink tone (there are two kinds in the pack), and I thought the Rococo Rose strip set them off nicely. And now I have that song stuck in my head.

12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN JULY (Day 11)

Heart's Delight Cards, Life Is Beautiful, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

When I saw the Life is Beautiful photopolymer stamp set in the new mini catalog, it zoomed to the top of my preorder list. No, really! This is going to be such a versatile set for any season, and I've used it for the very first time on a holiday card. I don't know if it really qualifies as a Christmas card, but the sentiment sure fits. We could certainly use some peace on Earth, and more good will toward (hu)man.

Heart's Delight Cards, Life Is Beautiful, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

This just came together so beautifully - I was hoping for a soft, peaceful scene, and I think I captured it. At least it looks peaceful to me!

Heart's Delight Cards, Life Is Beautiful, 2020 Aug-Dec Mini, 12 Days of Christmas in July, Stampin' Up!

I used a sponge dauber to ink the stamps. It's my new favorite way of inking if I want to preserve the details of the stamp. Did you know you can get better coverage on photopolymer (and even red rubber) stamps if you condition them first? I use my thumb to rub all the shiny off the clear ones, leaving them looking frosty. The ink sticks so much better! For red rubber, I use an eraser all over, then clean it well to get the eraser dust off before inking. Measurements and instructions are below.

Remember, buy any bundle in August from the upcoming 2020 Aug-Dec Mini Catalog, which starts August 4th, and received a pre-cut, ready to stamp and assemble card kit (4 cards and envelopes) from me! The kit will include any die cuts and embossed pieces, as well as embellishments needed to complete the cards. All you need is stamps, ink, and adhesives.
