Folded Star Revisited, Snowflake Ornament/Gift Tag!

Here's the "how to" for the folded star/snowflake! It's really simple, and for today's sample I scaled it down to be used as an ornament or gift tag.

Measurements for last Saturday's star card are in linked below. For today's ornament the measurements are 5-1/8" x 6", with the scorelines at 2-5/8" and 3-1/2".

Tutorial HERE.

Computer Woes

Yesterday, a day when there would normally be a new blog post, was spent trying to save my laptop. Thank heavens for my resident computer "expert" (aka husband), who spent all day trying to figure out why it wouldn't wake up from hibernation, and then backing up all my data when he finally did get it to wake up.

I had pictures on my camera I needed to upload, and no way to do it. My iPad is great for checking email and general Internet surfing, but I can't do anything on my blog with it, and can't use it for uploading and editing photos from the Sony camera.

All this (too much) info just to say, Merry Christmas Eve, and here is a quick picture of the goody boxes sent out Thursday. The box is a retired Stampin' Up! large gift box, but it was the perfect size for bags of homemade sweets to be sent to loved ones!

Folded Star

Smiley from millan.net

First of all, I would like to thank our veterans (and active military) for their service today. Without you we would not be here, so from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU and Happy Veteran's Day.

A few months ago Beate Johns from Splitcoast Stampers asked if I would do a tutorial on the folded star for the Holiday Blitz. Of course I said "Yes!", and promptly put it on the back burner, since it wasn't due for a few months. Life happened, Dad died, things came up, and suddenly it was almost due, and I hadn't even started it. Panic time!!!

Lucky for me, this is a super simple project, and I was able to finish the tutorial without giving Beate a stress-induced heart attack from being late. I even got the video finished in time!

This is one I made to use as a gift tag on a bottle of wine.  You can't see it, but there's some shimmer spray on the vellum to make it even more glitzy. Here's the back view:

I hope you all give it a try. It really is so simple, and can be used in so many ways (Hanukkah, holiday ornament, greeting card, etc.)
