Soft Sayings Card Kit Sneak Peek

At first I wasn't going to get this card kit, because I usually just do my own thing when it comes to card-making. But after taking a closer look, I knew I had to get it, not only for the great stamp set that is included, but also for the die cuts - especially the one on this card. I am positively thrilled that there will be a die like this one in the new catalog! It is in the Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies (p 213), and you can bet your booty that I'm ordering it on June 1st!

But back to the Soft Sayings Card Kit, which is on page 11 of the new catalog. This is perfect for beginning stampers because it includes everything you need to make 20 beautiful cards (2 each of 10 designs), except the glue and/or glue dots. Really, it even comes with a clear acrylic block for sticking your stamps on to stamp! Even advanced stampers will love the convenience and versatility of having a card ready to assemble without having to do the prep work.

The kit includes a Basic Gray Stampin' Spot, pre-cut and scored card bases (already colored), matching envelopes, all the die cuts, an acrylic block, the awesome 15 piece stamp set, Stampin' Dimensionals, Washi tape, and baker's twine. All in a tidy little box, which would make a perfect gift, too!

I loved the faux stitching on all the white labels! It's just the perfect little detail that makes the card extra special.

So, as you are poring over the catalog, make sure that you look closely at the kits! Don't skip over them, as I did at first. There is a lot you can miss if you do! Don't have a catalog or a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? If you live in the U.S. I'd be happy to send you one so you can see for yourself just how fabulous it is. Just contact me, and I'll be in touch!

Delightful Daisy Meets Tranquil Tulips

I borrowed the color scheme from the Delightful Daisy DSP for the Tranquil Tulips this time. Since I had the stamp set out and the DSP right in front of me, it was easy to create another pretty Thank You card!
The colors listed on the package are Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pool Party, and Tranquil Tide. As you can see from the background, the colors are muted, so I stamped off the Calypso Coral tulips once to lighten the color.

The Night of Navy mats really make the elements stand out, don't they?

Tranquil Tulip Sneak Peek

This is one of the six awesome new stamp sets from the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! catalog that are for qualifying party hosts, or anyone with an order that qualifies for Stampin' Rewards! Of course, you can use your Stampin' Rewards for anything you want in the catalog, not just the host sets, but the host stamp sets are only available for purchase with the rewards.

Tranquil Tulips is a two-step stamp and, because it is photopolymer (completely clear), it's easy to line up the second image with the first!

I absolutely loved the simplicity of this card! It was so quick and easy to make, and the colors worked really well together. The background paper is from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper pack. BTW, I love every single design in that pack, which is going to make it really hard to choose sides!

Here's the "How To"
 Image: Whisper White 3" x 4-1/4"
 Mat: Night of Navy 3-1/8" x 4-3/8"

Card base: Whisper White Thick 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  1. Adhere DSP to card base.
  2. Stamp tulip stems in Pear Pizzazz ink. Stamp tulips in Berry Burst ink and stamens in Night of Navy ink. Add Pear Pizzazz leaves as desired.
  3. Stamp greeting (from Daisy Delight) in Night of Navy ink.
  4. Adhere to mat and then to card base.
  5. Add Glitter Enamel Dots.
  6. BOOM! You're done....now wasn't that EASY?!
NOTE: The Glitter Enamel Dots have been so wildly popular with the demonstrator preorder that they are on back order until June 5th. (Another reason it pays to be a demo - get 'em first before they sell out! LOL)
