Stamp Review Crew - Snow Crystal

HAPPY NEW YEAR and welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's SNOW CRYSTAL edition! We're happy to see you for the very first Stamp Review Crew hop of 2024! If you landed here from Debra's blog, Heartfelt Inkspiration, welcome! There are four of us today, so the hop shouldn't take long.

Snow Crystal is one of the Stampin' Up! cling background stamps, and pairs well with other sentiment or image stamps. Since Christmas has just passed, I'm going with a winter and New Year's theme today. First up....the new year!

Snow Crystal was stamped on a Crumb Cake background using White Craft ink and then heat embossed in white.

The greeting (Year to Celebrate) was heat embossed in black on vellum cardstock, and the numbers were cut from More Dazzle Specialty Paper, then glued to the vellum. On the back side of the vellum, I carefully added thin lines of liquid glue behind the greeting and numbers to adhere it to the card without any adhesive showing. That whole panel was then popped up on dimensionals to the Crumb Cake card base.

The winter card started with Snow Crystal stamped in Balmy Blue (stamped off once) on a Basic White panel, then embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D folder. It was then adhered to the card base with Stampin' Seal.

The label behind the greeting was stamped (Sparkling Snowflakes) in Balmy Blue stamped off twice. It was cut with a Thoughtful Expressions (coming soon!) die, and snowflakes (from Chic Dies) were cut from vellum and Holographic Trio Specialty Paper and adhered to the back.

The label was popped up on the card and the greeting was stamped and fussy cut before being popped up on the label.

That's all I have to share for today, so click "Next" to see what Holly, The Rubber Redneck, created, or "Previous" to visit Deb again. Thanks for stopping by!

The Stamp Review Crew - Alpine Adventure

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2018/12/alpine-adventure.html

Welcome to the first Monday of the month and another Stamp Review Crew blog hop! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. Today we are featuring the Alpine Adventure photopolymer stamp set, and the now-sold-out Alpine Sports Thinlits Dies. We had no way of knowing when this schedule was set months ago that it would be gone already! You may have landed here from Ann's blog, The Stampin' Schach, or are starting here. Either way, follow the links at stop to go on to the next blog!

The whole reason I wanted this bundle was for the sled! I have very fond memories of playing with a red sled in the snow when I was a little girl. Okay, stop with the jokes - yes, they HAD invented sleds way back then! But I did have to walk five miles to school in the snow, uphill, both ways.

The sled was built by cutting three layers of Basic Black and gluing them together, then the final layer was cut from a piece of Wood Textures DSP which was colored with a Real Red Blends marker. I cut away the pieces that would have been black metal and adhered the "wood" pieces to the sled. I wanted the look of painted wood, and I think it turned out perfect! The layers really give it a 3D feeling, too.

The wreath was stamped in Call Me Clover with Poppy Parade berries added, along with some Red Rhinestones for bling. I hung it over the Real Red bow and held it in place with a dot of glue.

Besides the Sparkle Glimmer lined snow drifts and snowflake, some embossed snow was added to the background using the Softly Falling embossing folder. (The drifts were cut freehand.) And, of course, I had to emboss the envelope flap to match!

That's all for me....up next is Dawn, at Tiddbits from Dawn. I'm sure she has something fabulous to share!
