I have to make this real quick, because we're on our way to our son and new daughter-in-law's for supper.
This is the card for our stampin' club swap for next month. The theme was "wet", any interpretation, birthday card, with 2 layers and an embellishment.
I sponged VersaMagic Ocean Depth on the background and stamped the swirly seaweed in VersaMagic Hint of Pesto on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The little bubbles were stamped in CTMH Heavenly Blue.
The fish were stamped and reverse stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black in
k and colored with Copic markers. The glued-on party hats were also colored with Copics. Little "Sun" Swarovski crystals are their eyes. I just had to add some bling, lol. After they were cut out, they were "popped" from the background with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The sentiment was printed on my computer (the font is called Curlz), cut with a small Nesties Deckled Rectangle die, inked on the edge, and "popped", like the fish. The ribbon is supposed to be seaweed (or maybe a sea urchin, lol). I just knotted it and then cut the end to make it fray a bit. It's held on with little Glue Dots under each knot.
I found the crushed shells in the floral department at Michael's - I think they're used in the bottom of vases, but as soon as I saw the bag (and a good-sized bag, at that!) I knew what I was going to use them for! The blue-green "coral" was cut with a Martha Stewart punch and glued down with JudiKins Diamond Glaze.

This is the card I did for this month's stampin' club card swap. We've decided that from now on, we're only making one card per person. *phew!* It was getting to be a bit much making 24 cards per month, just for the swap!
The theme for this month was monochromatic with glitter, and I liked the purple color scheme from a couple posts ago so much that I decided to use it for the swap. I think Sue (aka Purplestamper) from Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Co. is going to like this one, LOL!
I inked the top half of the cupcake (Hero Arts Cupcakes clear set) with VersaMagic Eggplant ink and stamped it on DCWV Glitter Stack white cardstock.
After letting it dry overnight, the ink was still smudge-y, so I heat set it and that did the trick. Cut out all 24 and slightly rolled them to give them dimension. The Perfect Plum cardstock was cut into strips and run through the Fiskars Paper Crimper, then cut (opposing diagonals) to make the cupcake liners. I used a thick foam dot under the bottom edge of the "frosting" to make it stand away from the cupcake liner, and a Stampin' Dimensional under the brad.
Mats used, from top to bottom: DCWV Purple #1 (window cut with Stampin' Up! Word Window punch), Neenah Solar White (edged with Martha Stewart border punch), Paper Co. Boysenberry (edged with Martha Stewart border punch), HOTP Paper Pizazz Lavender Flowers on Purple designer paper.
The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages, stamped in CTMH Pansy Purple.
This card is for the sad occasion of another friend having to put their beloved pet down. That seems to be happening an awful lot lately. :-( And I know of yet another that will have to make that painful decision in a day or two. *sigh*
That sweet little kitty face is called Peeking Kitty by Rubber Stampede, and as soon as I saw it at the store, I knew it had to be made peeking out a window. I cut the window frame from heavy cardstock (Neenah Solar White Cover 110 lb.) using a Fiskars portable paper
trimmer. It makes cutting inside corners really easy, but you have to be careful to not go too far (don't look too closely at the photo, lol).
The flowers in the window box are from the Stampin' Up! Friendships Grow set, which I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and masked four times, lining them up with a Stamp-a-ma-jig. The window box I just drew with a ruler, cut out, added shading with Copic YR24 Pale Sepia, and then popped up on Stampin'
Dimensionals. The flowers were double popped up to make it look like they're hanging over the box. I added some Hero Arts Sparkle Gem Small Blossoms to the flowers for interest.
The texture behind the kitty was aFiskars texture plate, and the dry embossed flowers on the right are from the Cuttlebug Just My Type embossing folder set (see to right). I hadn't played with that set yet, but I really like the way it turned out, so I'll be using it more.
Copic colors used>>>>
I've been so busy in the craft room lately, I can hardly believe how much I have gotten done! Here's another card for your consideration. I absolutely love this image, "Melinda Hugging Heart" from Whiff of Joy Stamps. The image was stamped in pigment ink and heat embossed with clear EP. She was colored with Copic markers, and Stickles Star Dust was used on her wings.Cardstock: SU Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Curious Iridescent Cryogen White

We're supposed to have hot weather for the next couple of days, and then (I hope) we'll settle into more autumn-like weather. I don't like it when it's hot....I get cranky and irritable, just ask my DH! LOLAnyway, here's another couple of cards I made for the World Card Making Day challenges at Splitcoast Stampers. I sure had fun doing those challenges! There were a couple that I wasn't going to do - either because I didn't like the colors chosen, or because I wasn't sure I could do something using the required technique. This lavender card is from the Technique Lover's Challenge WCMDTLC08, called Nested Flowers. I think it turned out okay.
Paper: Paper Co, Provo Craft, HOTP
Sentiment: Hero Arts "Anytime Messages"
