The Stamp Review Crew - Winter Woods

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/09/WW.html

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's bonus fifth Monday hop! The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday, and that's today! If you landed here from The Stampin' Hoot, welcome!

Today we are featuring Winter Woods, which has a coordinating set of dies called In The Woods. This is a very versatile stamp set, as you will see!

Okay the name may be WINTER Woods, but I think it works just as well for Autumn, as seen here on my first card.

I made a watercolor wash background using Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red, making sure to dry each color with the Heat Tool before adding another color. After stamping the group of trees (Early Espresso), I used Stampin' Write markers on the "ground" stamp in the same colors as the wash to add the look of fallen leaves.

Now, if you want to talk about versatility....doesn't this make a great masculine birthday card?! I thought the copper Star Designer Elements made a nice accent to the birthday greeting, and tied in with the Copper Foil leaves.

For the second card, I went all out Winter, pairing it with some Wrapped In Plaid Specialty DSP.

The evergreen tree was stamped in Shaded Spruce (what else? *grin*) and die cut, then layered on the plaid background with dimensionals. I heat embossed the greeting in gold, and dry embossed the whole panel with the Winter Knit 3D embossing folder.

After adding some Shaded Spruce/Gold ribbon, the plaid panel with the tree was adhered. Some Red Rhinestones Basic Jewels and a gold star completed the tree.

Where did I get the gold star? I just colored one of the copper ones with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends marker. 😊

Up next is Jay at Mitosu Crafts - I can't wait to see what he created!

The Freaks are Falling for Fall!

The Control Freaks have some sweet Autumn-y goodness for you this month! Whether it's celebrating the change of seasons, gratitude, or Halloween, we have something for everyone!! I'm the first stop on the hop, but you may have landed here from  Wickedly Wonderful Creations. Weren't Wendy's projects awesome?!

I have two quick cards today, one for Halloween and one for Fall. Let's start with Halloween.

This little Dracula is simply adorable, but don't let him get too near your neck! I used the Spooktacular Bash Bundle and paired it with the Wonderfully Wicked Bundle. I think they were made for each other!

The "Have a" and "good time" were heat embossed in Shimmer Black embossing powder. I do believe the dapper Mr. Dracula likes a little bling.

Up next is the Autumn/Gratitude card. I am positively LOVING the Gather Together Bundle! The Gathered Leaves Dies that coordinate are beautiful and some emboss as they cut, adding extra texture......just gorgeous!

The Come To Gather Suite also includes DSP, some of which was used on the background here. I like how the neutral background really makes the leaves and pumpkins pop!

A few Pumpkin Pie-colored Holiday Rhinestones added a bit more shine (like the card really needed it, LOL).

That's all from me today. Up next is Debbie at Debbie's Designs. She's sure to knock your socks off with her fabulous style!

BTGOF!

No, the cat didn't walk across the keyboard, LOL. Not only did the Holiday catalog start yesterday, but the Buy Three Get One Free (BTGOF) Designer Series Paper sale did, as well! The deal applies to select DSP in the annual catalog and runs until the end of September.

That gorgeous wreath above was made with the See A Silhouette DSP. Isn't it just fab??? Here's another idea using Dino Roar and an acetate card box. Wouldn't that make a great favor for a kid's party?

And, for the first time ever, there is a Specialty DSP on the list, too! To see the complete list, CLICK HERE. As always, I appreciate your shopping with me!
