Daisy Lane Black-eyed Susans

Black-eyed Susans are blooming all around here right now, and they always make me smile when I see them. I knew that I could duplicate them using the Daisy Lane stamp set, coordinating Medium Daisy Punch, and Perennial Essence Floral Centers, so this was one of the cards we made in Saturday's Stamp Club.

Start by dyeing the fuzzy flower centers with an Early Espresso ink pad. Grab the adhesive dimensional on the back side with tweezers and press the fuzzy side onto the ink pad several times to get the coverage you want. Set aside to dry, or dry with a Heat Tool on the low setting.

Stamp four of the medium daisies in Daffodil Delight ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock and punch them out with the Medium Daisy Punch. Glue one daisy over the other, offsetting the petals, so that you have two complete daisies. Stamp the daisy stem twice on the DSP using Mossy Meadow ink, and color with a Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blend marker.

Stamp the greeting in Early Espresso, adhere the DSP to the card base and glue the daisies on. Add the fuzzy centers, and a few Noble Peacock Rhinestones, and you're done!

Floral Essence Sunrise

Heart's Delight Cards, Floral Essence, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, Stampin' Up!

I had some fun playing with new catalog goodies this week. While I was cutting all the DSP samples to share with my downline, I set aside one of the cuts from the Shimmer Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty DSP because I had an idea for it.

Since I was also sending them a sample of the new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, I set aside a piece of it, too. Did you know that, with the exception of Pretty Peacock, the new In Colors make a fabulous sunrise (or sunset) watercolor wash? Oh, yes they do, as can be seen here! I started with Terracotta Tile, then Rococo Rose, followed by Purple Posy and Seaside Spray.

After making the wash and letting it dry, I cut the watercolor paper down to fit the back of the 3-1/2" x 5" laser-cut piece and adhered them both to a Very Vanilla card base. The flower from Floral Essence was stamped twice with Rococo Rose on Very Vanilla cardstock, then colored with the matching Stampin' Blends, with the center stamped in Soft Suede (stamped off once). The Coordinating Perennial Flower Punch makes quick work of "building" a flower! And, of course, you can get the stamp set and punch as a bundle and save 10%.

I used Old Olive to stamp the leaves on the Old Olive vellum (Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock) and dried it with the Heat Tool on the low setting. Because it's vellum, it doesn't absorb the ink very well, so drying thoroughly is a must! The leaves were then punched out with the Leaf Punch and adhered with glue, then the flower was popped up on dimensionals.

Daisy Lane Time to SHINE

Can you tell I really, really like the Daisy Lane cling stamp set? It was one of the things that was in the bag we received when we went to OnStage in April. And who doesn't like free stuff?!

Unfortunately, the stamp set didn't come with the coordinating Medium Daisy Punch, so I had to fussy-cut all those petals! But you don't have to, because now the punch is available to order, and I won't have to any more because I ordered the punch Tuesday. Yay!

Okay, here's the deal.... Stampin' Up! has challenged all OnStage attendees (that includes yours truly) to sell THREE Daisy Lane stamp sets between now and July 22nd.
