Sneaky Peeks from the Control Freaks!

Time for a new Tour de Freaks blog hop, and this month we are sharing some awesome sneak peeks from the new 2018-2019 annual catalog, which starts in less than two weeks, woohoo!!! Heart's Delight Cards, Accented Blooms, Springtime Impressions Thinlits, Stampin' Up!,

Two of my many, many favorite things from the new catalog are the Accented Blooms stamps set (because, well....COLORING!), and the beautiful Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies (because, well....Mr. Big!). And these dies not only cut the most intricate butterfly or floral looking die cut, but they can be used with the Big Shot Embossing Mats to emboss instead of cut!

My first card shows the die cut layered behind the colored and fussy-cut image. It's so elegant and lacy. I just love it!

For the second card, I used the die and embossing mat and just pressed the impression into the Granny Apple Green background. This time, instead of fussy-cutting the whole image, I stamped it again and cut some of the flowers to pop up. Sure do love those Stampin' Blends markers. I can't wait for June 1st, because there will be eleven new colors available, including me new favorite green! WOOT!

Lots of Happy Birthday

Heart's Delight Cards, Lots of Happy Card Kit, Detailed With Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Yesterday was a stamping friend's birthday, so I used one of the die cuts from the Lots of Happy card kit (which is carrying over, woohoo!) and the new Stitched Labels Framelits dies to make her a card.

You've seen that stitched/cross stitched background on another card that I posted a few days ago. It is so easy to add an interesting texture to your project with those Stitched Labels! Look at the detail!

So, after coloring the die cuts and popping them up on the textured background, it was a simple matter to add a bit of ribbon and the birthday greeting on a label from the same die set. I think it turned out lovely!

Detailed With Love and Useful Bits

Heart's Delight Cards, Detailed With Love, Share What You Love Suite, Happy Birthday, Stampin' Up!

Since I had some leftover "useful bits" of fussy-cut flowers and a die cut laying around, I thought I would put them together for my granddaughter's birthday card. It boggles my mind that she is nineteen years old today. Holy carp, time sure does fly!

I remember the day she came into the world like it was yesterday. Her mom and dad were staying with us, and my son came in and woke me up to say she was having contractions. It was five weeks before the due date, and outwardly I seemed calm, but inside I was freaking "It's too early, it's too early!" So I calmly told them they might want to go to the hospital and have things checked out.

Well, little Taylor decided she just HAD to make her appearance that day, despite us wanting her to stay in her mommy's tummy a bit longer. She weighed just over 5 pounds, but was healthy, thank goodness! I had never held a baby that tiny before, since my babies were over 8 and 9 pounds at birth. But it was definitely love at first sight, the moment I laid eyes on her. You might think you can never love a child as much as you love your own, but that changes when you have a grandchild!
