Jan. 24 Stamp of the Week - Heart to Heart

This week's featured stamp set is Heart to Heart, a 20 piece photopolymer set and, because I was inspired by yesterday's blog hop using non-traditional Valentine colors, the card is another unique combination of colors - Sahara Sand and Misty Moonlight!

The Detailed Hearts Die that coordinates with the stamp set was used on Sahara Sand foil from Love You Always Foil Sheets (Jan-Jun mini), and I cut a few more hearts in Misty Moonlight to use as filler in some of the open hearts.

After stamping the label and greeting, I fussy cut close to the outline so I could use a Misty Moonlight punched (Story Book Label) mat behind it. I just noticed it shifted a bit after I glued it on the mat, darn it! Oh well...

Hot Diggity-Dog!

Here's another card using the SOTW and I've got my Valentine done for my Hubby a whole month in advance! Since we support our local animal shelter and also the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary here in Tennessee, I knew this would just be perfect for my animal-loving honey.

I combined the Hot Dog stamp set with the Always in My Heart bundle to turn this into a Valentine. I adore that heart border die, and the tiny hearts left over make great confetti! The tiny heart stamp in the Hot Dog set fit perfectly in the empty buffalo check spots, too.

The Stamparatus made stamping the Buffalo Check background so easy! I had missed a couple spots on the stamp with the ink pad on the first stamping, so I just re-inked and stamped again in the exact same place. Perfect coverage. I love the color combination of black, white, and red, don't you?

Measurements

  • Card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  • Buffalo Check background 3-3/4" x 5"
  • White mat 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"
  • Image panel 1-5/8" x 5"

Another Sweet Strawberry Variation

The mistake I made on the SOTW card Sunday inspired me to make this card. I just never know where my harebrained ideas will come from, LOL!

Since that strawberry looked like a pear to me, I thought I'd make a non-traditional Valentine for my honey. I just used the filler stamp with some Pear Pizzazz ink (what else?) and added a little Flirty Flamingo blush with a sponge dauber. Since I didn't have a stamp with the right greeting, I printed it on the printer.

The stems were cut from the leaf image (stamped in Early Espresso) and then I stamped the leaf in Garden green for the outline and Granny Apple Green for the filler. It coordinates with the Berry Delightful DSP that's part of the Berry Blessings Bundle in the Sale-a-Bration brochure!
