Stamp Review Crew - Cottage Wreaths

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's Cottage Wreaths edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Mike's blog, welcome! There are five of us today, so lots of inspiration!

Cottage Wreaths carried over to the new Annual Catalog, and I'm so happy it did because it is so versatile. The photopolymer stamp set has 15 pieces, and it coordinates with the 22 piece Country Wreaths Dies. Lots of seasons are covered in this set, so I have three cards to share today, in order of calendar appearance - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Up first is Halloween, with the spooky spider. I used to hate spiders, but as a gardener I know they have a purpose, so now I have a live and let live attitude. They stay out of my house and I let them live. 😂

On this card I used Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, and some new glimmer paper that will be released as an Online Exclusive next month.

The Highland Heather Glimmer and Exposed Brick embossed Smoky Slate both measure 2-3/4" x 4". I added a Painted Texture embossed Basic Gray layer to the card base for a bit more texture. I don't know if you can see it, but there is a second layer of wreath stamped and die cut on Smoky Slate under the white one. Just more texture!

Up next is Thanksgiving. The bare branch wreath was stamped in Pecan Pie (so appropriate for Thanksgiving, right?) on Crumb Cake and the leaves were added using Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry.

It was then die cut with the Scalloped Contours die and a piece of Natural Ribbon was wrapped before adhering to the Leaf Fall embossed background.

The greeting was die cut using a Stylish Shapes die, and some Brushed Metallic Dots and a Linen Thread bow completed the card.

And last, but certainly not least is my favorite holiday, Christmas! I started with a Real Red card base and adhered the Shaded Spruce check pattern from the Joy of Christmas DSP. On top of that was added a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" square of Real Red and a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" square of Gold Foil.

On the 3" x 3" Basic White square I stamped the bare branch wreath in Pretty Peacock to use as a guide for stamping the Pretty Peacock pine sprigs. I knew the branch wasn't going to show, but I wanted the pine sprigs to peek out from behind the die cut wreath.

The leafy wreath was stamped in Shaded Spruce using sponge daubers to ink the stamp. The Real Red berries were stamped on top and it was die cut with the matching die and popped up on dimensionals over the pine sprigs. A Gold Foil bow and some gold Festive Pearls were added. Sadly, I LOST the Merry Christmas stamp from this set. I suspect a resident canine may have found it. Anyhooo, I borrowed a greeting and die from the Stars at Night bundle to finish the card.
