CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF845

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is a sketch that lends itself well to showcasing designer series paper. For this card I used Sentimental Christmas, found on page 29 of the Sep-Dec mini catalog. Did you know that for every purchase of this DSP, $3.00 will be donated to support children's literacy? I think that is a very worthwhile cause! Here is the sketch we are following this week:

I followed it pretty much exactly, only changing the image from a square to a circle. And that was only because of the way the design was on the DSP, lol. Measurements are given below.

The white piece was embossed with the Snowflake Sky folder. After embossing the greeting (Keeping Tabs) on Lost Lagoon, it was die cut with the smaller of the long banner dies in Stylish Shapes. The fawn and bird were cut with the second largest circle die in the same set. After gluing the greeting to the image they were popped up on dimensionals with a bit of Shaded Spruce ribbon underneath. Three snowflakes complement the tiny snowflakes in the background DSP.

Measurements:

  • Tree DSP - 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
  • Embossed Basic White - 2" x 3 3/4"

CSF Saturday Hop - Deck the Halls

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is Deck the Halls with greenery or trees. For my card today, I didn't use any stamps or ink! The Reindeer Fun Memories & More Card Pack has so many fun images and stickers that I was able to build this card with hardly any effort.

The Christmas lights (part of the Reindeer Fun die set) were cut three times in Garden Green, then one of each color of Festive Glimmer paper. The only real "work" on the card was cutting off each light bulb and gluing them on the Garden Green strings, and adding a gold star (from Merriest Trees dies).

The tree image was matted on 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" Basic White, 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" Real Red, and 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" Garden Green before being affixed to the card base. The greeting is part of the sticker sheets that come with the Reindeer Fun card pack. Easy peasy!

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF844

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Copper Clay, Early Espresso, and Wild Wheat. While this color combo screams Autumn to me, I resisted the urge to make a fall card and tried something different. I made a birthday pocket card with a gift card pull-out!

The background is Botanical Beauty, stamped in those three colors (sponge daubers are very handy here). The Copper Clay pull-out was cut with the largest Countryside Corners die and scored/folded 1 1/4" from the bottom. The pull tab (from the Keeping Tabs bundle) was stamped in Copper Clay and Early Espresso then glued to the top.

The Early Espresso pocket was cut 3 3/4" x 6 1/8" and scored at 2 3/4". I put the short side through the SCEM with the Dashing Designs embossing folder, leaving the larger half unembossed. Very narrow sticky tape (non-SU) closed the sides and also adhered the Gold 1/8" Ribbon. The pocket was then adhered to the card front and Gold Textured Adhesive-backed Dots were added.
