Mar. 21 Stamp of the Week - Vine Design

Happy Spring, y'all! In celebration of the new season this week's SOTW is Vine Design, with the coordinating Flowering Vine Dies. I am sooo ready for warmer weather, even though it means the bugs come back.

Our redbud trees are getting ready to burst into bloom, so I got the color inspiration for this card from them. The very first two trees we planted when we retired and "bought the farm" were Eastern Redbuds because we were so enamored of their beauty!

This is a pretty straightforward card. The leaves were stamped in Garden Green, then the little blossoms were stamped around in Magenta Madness and the image was die cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies. The Painted Texture embossed background was wrapped with M.M. ribbon before being adhered to the card base.

After die cutting the image, it was popped up on dimensionals on the embossed background. Three medium blossoms were stamped in Rich Razzleberry and die cut, along with two more M.M. small blossoms. They were popped up on dimensionals, as well.Rhinestone Basic Jewels added the bling.

CCM Saturday Hop - Easter

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is Easter, and the Springtime Joy cling stamp set is just so adorable that I had to use it - even though there were others calling me from the shelf!

I wanted a bit more texture than just the Subtle 3D embossing, so I added the lovely die cut from the Flowering Vine Dies. I think it added just the right amount of interest to the background without overwhelming the little image.

The rabbit was stamped and colored before cutting out with the Stitched So Sweetly scalloped die. His little basket was stamped, colored and fussy cut.

That's my share for today. Now click the Next button to jump to Libby Fens at Libby Stamps, or the Back button to see what Mary Brown at Stamper Camper's Corner has made!

The Freaks Can Celebrate!

The Tour de Freaks theme this month is "Celebrate" and there are many occasions that call for celebration. If you just landed here from Wendy's blog, welcome! Follow the links at the end of each page to go on to the next stop on the hop. There are seven of us "celebrating" today!

I chose three occasions that call for celebratory cards, and the first one that came to mind is birthdays, so I made a big, bold, bright birthday card.

The Playing With Patterns DSP sure made it easy to go bold, as well as the bold birthday greeting in the You Are Amazing stamp set. It was a piece of (birthday) cake to fussy cut the word window!

Up next is a celebration of a different kind - a wedding. Normally I'd go with pinks and grays for a wedding card, but somehow Pretty Peacock and Sahara Sand just seemed right for this one.

The Love You Always Specialty DSP and Foils give it a classic look behind the Stitched So Sweetly die cuts.

Lastly is a card to celebrate an accomplishment of any sort. The Playing With Patterns DSP made another appearance because I thought the background looked a lot like confetti.

And the Stitched So Sweetly dies also made another appearance. They just fit the sentiment so well!

That's my share for today, so hop on over to Tami at Swimming in Stamps and see what she's celebrating!
