EXCITING NEWS!!!

I am doing a big Snoopy happy dance! Finally, Stampin' Up! has storage solutions, and they are customizable to fit our needs! I am SO HAPPY about this because I've been using bits and pieces of different products, and it doesn't look good to me.  I can envision the clutter on my desk all organized in these clean, white cubes! I love that they are white, too, because it really shows off the colors! They are also stackable, so you can add on as needed. (I'm going to need a lot of them, but I plan to just add one or two to my orders as the months go by, so it won't be a big hit to my wallet, LOL.)

Here's a cute stop-motion video showing some configurations:

They will be available starting April 1st to customers and demonstrators. Stampin' Up! didn't want to wait until the new annual catalog launches in June, because they know we've been asking for this for a long time! You can view the flyer HERE.

For Someone Special (CTD535)

It's been a while since I've played along with a challenge, and this week's Color Throw Down definitely caught my eye! It reminds me of Spring popping out all over and I am ready for some warmer Spring temperatures, how about you?

With these colors as a start, I needed to make a card for a family member who is starting a new chapter of her life. I had some stamped, but not colored, blossoms from All That You Are, so it was easy to add some Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and light Old Olive with Stampin' Blends markers.

The fussy cutting was kind of a PITA.....wish there was a die for that image! But I really wanted a lot of the yellow gingham to show, so away I went with the Paper Snips.

The greeting is from Strong & Beautiful, and was perfect for the encouragement I wanted to send. Inside it says "Keep reaching for your dreams, I will keep cheering you on!"

The Hop That Wasn't

Normally there would have been a Control Freaks tour today, but life got in the way for too many of us, so the hop was canceled. *Sniff*  HOWEVER, I know there are some exciting things in the works, so be sure to check us out over the next few months!

Since I had my project done, I figured I'd share it anyway. I hadn't had a chance to play with the Flowering Desert photopolymer stamp set, so I thought now would be a great time. Because the southwest got SO MUCH RAIN recently, it has produced what is called a super bloom, meaning the wild flowers and cacti are going absolutely bonkers with blooms! It really is spectacular; I witnessed it several times when I lived in SoCal. Absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

Since today is the also first day of Spring (hooray!) this card is even more appropriate. I used sponge daubers to add ink to the Marbled background stamp to create the effect of a gorgeous desert sunrise or sunset.

The saguaro cactus, prickly pear cactus, and agave were all stamped and fussy cut so the background would show through. The saguaro and agave were glued in place, but the prickly pear was popped up on dimensionals. You can't see it, but the blooms have some Clear Wink of Stella on them, too.
