Stamp Review Crew - Something Fancy

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's SOMETHING FANCY edition! The "Crew" is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Holly's blog, Rubber Redneck, welcome! There are four of us today, so the hop will be a quickie!

The Something Fancy stamp set is all greetings so it can be used with ANY other set or product. There are ten sentiments, and a coordinating twelve piece die set. I'm using some soon-to-retire products, as well as some Online Exclusive products for today's cards.

The Design A Daydream Host DSP has such pretty patterns, so that's what I used on both cards. The first card is mainly Mint Macaron (like that alliteration? heh) which is a retiring color.

The Fine Shimmer gold is also retiring, sadly. I used the radiating Stitches dies which are Online Exclusives. Lots of fun textures and shapes there!

The second card is Petal Pink which is not retiring, although the DSP is.

This card also uses Online Exclusives, in the form of the Basics 3D embossing folder and the Elegant Borders die.

The Petal Park bundle made quick work of the flowers. The greeting and flowers were stamped in Basic Gray which is the perfect color to complement Petal Pink. I used Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Stampin Blends on the blossoms.

That's all I have to share for today, so click "Next" to see what Jay at Mitosu Crafts created, or "Previous" to visit Holly again. Thanks for stopping by!

CCM Saturday Hop - Pick Me Up

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is PICK ME UPs (well wishes, thinking of you, etc.), and I'm using mainly Last Chance products to remind you to grab these things while you can!

The Hues of Happiness Suite on pages 108 and 109 of the annual catalog made this theme so easy! The only stamping involved was the greeting....everything else was die cut. Well, except for the center of the rose that was fussy cut for more dimension. 😉

I have to admit that I am gutted that the Stitched Rectangles Dies are retiring. I use them on practically everything. I don't know how I'm going to manage without them! Also sad to see Pear Pizzazz going away. It was such a lovely medium green. *sigh* But I know there are new colors coming for me to fall in love with, so there's that, LOL.

That's all for today - see you next Saturday! Up next is Libby Fens at Libby Stamps. Or click the "back" button to go back to Lori at Loritamarie Crafts.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop - Spring is Here

Today's Create With Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is SPRING! I love this time of year, though I could do without the strong storms....yikes! Everything is busting out in bloom around here, and the gorgeous Dainty Delight stamp set was the perfect stamp set for showing the delicate beauty of Spring blossoms.

I used StazOn Saddle Brown stamped off once for the flowers and greenery because I wanted a light outline that I could watercolor using muted shades of all the 2021-2023 In Colors. I'm so sad that these are retiring soon! I loved ALL the colors for the first time in a long time.

I thought I'd try a little shabby chic look for this card, so after stamping and watercoloring on the Shimmery White, I ran it through the SCEM (Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine) with the Timeworn Type folder, then distressed the edges. Some Brushed Brass Butterflies added a nice touch, even if I haven't seen any real ones yet!
