CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Cards for Guys

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is guy cards. The Gears & Textures bundle is great for the gear-heads that you may know. (And I may be related to a few, lol.)

I tried something with the new Impressions Plate, and it worked! I used the Gears & Textures dies with the plate to create an embossed background, and really like the way it turned out. If you want to try it, and have the Impressions Plate, this is the "sandwich" to use, building from the bottom up:

1.  Base Plate #1 (platform)
2.  Die Plate #2
3.  Dies cutting edge face up
4.  Cardstock laid on top of dies
5.  Impressions Plate (the black rubbery one)
6.  Specialty Plate #4

After embossing the Very Vanilla with the dies, I stamped some of the texture images and rubbed a little Lost Lagoon with sponge daubers to highlight the details. Then I cut three of the gears from the shimmer paper and adhered them over their impressed places.

That was matted on the Lost Lagoon striped pattern from Everyday Essentials DSP and then adhered to the card base. I added the birthday greeting from Phrases & Frames and a couple Lost Lagoon Matte Dots, and it was finished.

Measurements

• Card base: Lost Lagoon 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored/folded at 4 1/4"
• DSP: Lost Lagoon Everyday Essentials 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
• Embossed panel: Very Vanilla 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
