CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Fun With Stripes

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is stripes, and I had a lot of fun using up some scraps on this card! I glued 1/2" strips of the eleven(!) colors onto a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White, and trimmed the sides down to make it 4" x 5-1/2" since I wanted to leave a white border on the sides.

After trimming the striped panel, it was embossed with the Soft Waves 3D folder and adhered to the card base. Then I stamped the greeting from With You in Mind in black, and added the Daffodil Delight flower overlapping a little. It was fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals and Starburst Sequins were added.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF871

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge is this square card sketch. I haven't made a square card in eons!

I decided to make a Father's Day card for my sweetie. Mainly because I can hand it to him and not pay extra postage for a "non-machinable" envelope. *grin* This year Father's Day is the same day as our 50th (!) anniversary. All I can say is, the man is a saint for tolerating me all these decades. šŸ˜†

I started with a 5" x 10" piece of Old Olive, scored at 5" and folded. The background plaid measures 4-5/8" square, and the smaller plaid measures 3" square. After adhering the smaller square, I masked off the bottom, stamped the leaves from Spotlight on Nature and colored them with the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blend.

Black baker's twine was wrapped twice around the plaid pieces and tied in a bow, then everything was adhered to the card base. The greeting from the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack was popped up on dimensionals. After I finished the card, I thought the small center square needed to pop a bit more, so I took a super-fine black pen and carefully traced around it so it showed up better.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop - Fun With Plaids

Today's Create With Stamping Friends Saturday Hop theme is plaids. I love all kinds of plaids, from tartan to gingham to buffalo check!

I combined two plaid products for this card, starting with brushing Garden Green and Granny Apple Green onto plaid patterned Irresistible Designs Specialty Paper, and cutting it with a Nested Essentials die. It was popped up on the Forever Plaid 3D embossed Garden Green background.

The greeting from The Right Words was fussy cut and popped up, and the die cut floral and greenery were also popped up. A Petunia Pop bow and Petunia Pop Starburst Sequins finished it all off.

CSF Thursday Challenge - CSF870

This week's Create With Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge are the colors Secret Sea, Strawberry Slush, and Old Olive.

Originally I had planned to color the Extraordinary Flora image with Stampin' Blends, but the Light Secret Sea Blend is still pretty dark, so I got out my trusty Blender Pens which haven't seen daylight in a while. I love using them because I have total control over the degree of saturation. After pressing the back of the ink pad firmly against the lid, I had a nice pool of color to work with. šŸ‘

The Sentimental Framing Dies are so much fun! I used one for the Old Olive frame and another one for the greeting (from The Right Words).
