The Stamp Review Crew - Birch

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/08/birch.html

It's the third Monday of the month and that means another fabulous hop from the Stamp Review Crew! We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the globe who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. If you landed here from Nikki's's blog, My Sandbox, welcome!

This time we are doing something a little different and featuring a background stamp called Birch. This is such a versatile stamp, and it makes me think of fall and winter, and the great outdoors. Fall can't get here soon enough, in my opinion. It's been HOT and muggy for too long!

Sine I'm longing for crisp days and sweaters and warm bowls of soup, I went with an autumn theme. The new Gather Together Bundle that will be available starting Sep. 4th made the perfect pairing with the Birch background.

The background was stamped in Basic Gray on Whisper White, then layered on Terracotta Tile. A Copper Trim bow was added before adhering it to a Crumb Cake mat, and then the card base.

The Gathered Leaves dies that coordinate with the Gather Together stamp set not only cut leaves, but emboss them, too! I inked the dies up before cutting the leaves to really make the details pop. (Just place the dies face down on whatever color ink pad you want and press gently. Then use tweezers to move the die onto your cardstock and cut it out with your die cutting machine.)

After heat embossing the greeting on Crumb Cake cardstock, I used the Everyday Label Punch to cut it, and then trimmed it down to make a smaller label. A copper Leaves Trinket completed the card.

This candle was so fun to do! I didn't have tissue paper to make a tissue paper stamped/wrapped/heat-set candle, so I used vellum instead. The Birch Background was stamped with StazOn ink in a piece of Vellum Cardstock cut to fit the candle. I used the same elements to decorate the candle as were used on the card.

And no worries about starting a fire - it's a battery-operated wax candle. *smile*

Up next is Leanne, over at Literally My Joy. I can't wait to see what she made!

  3. Absolutely beautiful! I have always loved giving cards and gifts that coordinate. One quick question though. Did you still have to heat/melt the vellum onto the candle or did you adhere it some other way. Than you so much for taking the time to answer my question. I would like to make something similar for my aunts for Christmas.

    1. Thank you, Lisa! Nope, no heat necessary. I just used a strip of Tear & Tape to hold it.

    1. I'm so sorry, I just saw your question! The leaves were Terracotta Tile stamped with Cajun Craze and Grapefruit Grove stamped with Grapefruit Grove.
