My Inky Friends Design Challenge #1

https://myinkyfriends.blogspot.com/2017/12/the-first-ever-inky-friends-design.html

Welcome to the FIRST My Inky Friends Design Challenge! We are so excited to announce new monthly challenges, and we hope we can get you crafty folks to play along with us! The challenges will be on the fourth Friday of every month - it could be a sketch or a color challenge, but it will always be inspired by something in a current Stampin' Up! catalog! Our first challenge is a sketch, which was inspired by the card on page 61 of the annual catalog. Here is my take on the sketch:

If you've never participated in a challenge before, it's really pretty fun and easy. You make a project that follows the theme, and post it on your blog or someplace like Splitcoast Stampers, then use the link widget found on the MIF challenge post to link to your project, so we can see your creation!

This challenge runs through Jan. 12th, then the design team will vote for their favorites, and the winners will be announced. There will even be a badge for winners to proudly display on their blog!

To see what the Design Team made, check the guidelines, or add your creation to the challenge, just click the challenge graphic at the top, or click HEREIf you upload to an online gallery, please use the keyword MIFDC1.

For this card, I heat embossed the flower from Beautiful Day on watercolor paper, then used Brusho Crystals and an Aqua Painter to color it. The black & white DSP is from the Tutti-Frutti DSP stack. And if you look really closely, you can see the Scattered Sequins Dynamic embossing folder was used on the card base for some added texture. That fun greeting is from Birthday Wit - inside the card it says "You're Welcome."

  2. I love the vibrant colors of the Brushos. Very pretty watercoloring. It looks like a little piece of art. This is a really cute sentiment too. The sequin trim seems to be really popular. I need to add that to the list to match my sequin embossing folder.
