Control Freaks Preorder Fun!

Welcome to this month's Tour de Freaks and, boy, do we have some fun sneak peeks for you! The theme is "Occasions/Sale-A-Bration Preview", so there will be lots of fun things to see. Debbie is the first stop on the hop this time, but if you started here, just follow the links and you'll see all the Freaks' projects!

There are SO MANY fun things to show you, I didn't know where to begin. So I decided to try and focus on just one product from the Occasions catalog, and one from the Sale-A-Bration flyer. To start, I am showcasing the Lots of Happy card kit on page 15 of the Occasions Catalog. I have to admit, one of the big selling points for me was the Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist watercolor pencils (2 of the 4 colors included), which are exclusive to this kit!

Lots of Happy, Stampin' Up!

The kit makes 20 cards and contains nearly everything you need, from the photopolymer stamp set, ink spot, watercolor pencils, and clear acrylic block, right down to the printed  dies cuts, card bases and envelopes. All you need is your choice of adhesive and, if you want to blend the pencils, a Blender Pen or Aqua Painter.

My first card was made as per the kit instructions, although I couldn't resist adding a little pop of color on the background piece. It gives the card just a bit more oomph, don't you think?

If you've followed me for any length of time, you know that I don't use very many cards that aren't the full A2 size, so I'll be coming up with ways to use the smaller card components in the kit on full size cards. This second card is just one idea, but stay tuned for more in the near future. Check back tomorrow for some helpful hints on coloring, too!

Lots of Happy, Stampin' Up!

My Sale-A-Bration choice is the adorable Party Pandas stamp set! This is a get-well card for a friend's four year old daughter whose appendix ruptured Sunday, requiring emergency surgery. Poor baby. And poor mama, too!

Party Pandas, Stampin' Up!

I used some of the Picture Perfect Party DSP for the background. Love those little circles and, of course, the colors! And, if you zoom in by clicking the picture, you'll see the embossed Scattered Sequins, a new Dynamic embossing folder in the Occasions Catalog.

That's all I have for you today. I hope you have enjoyed the cards, and gotten some ideas for your cards.  Now go see what Connie has in store for you!
