Inky Friends New Catalog Hop!

Welcome to the Inky Friends New Catalog Blog Hop! I'm hopping with a new group today, but the friends aren't new; they've been my stamping sistahs for quite a while now! You may have landed here from Sarah's Ink Spot, or you might be starting here with me. Either way, there are ten of us, so if you click the "Next" button at the bottom of each blog, you'll take the whole tour. Each of us are featuring a different stamp set, bundle, or suite in the new Stampin' Up! catalog, so there's sure to be something that inspires you!

I chose the Oh So Eclectic bundle for my two cards, and wanted to focus on the die cuts on one card, and the stamps on the other. So up first are the die cuts, with the Naturally Eclectic DSP as a background:

I think the Copper Foil looks so elegant against the black, don't you? If you look closely, you'll see some copper sequins, too! They are in the Metallics Sequin Assortment, in three sizes.

STAMPS: Vertical Greetings INK: Basic Black Archival CARDSTOCK: Basic Black, Naturally Eclectic DSP, Copper Foil Sheets ACCESSORIES: Big Shot, Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies

Stamping was the focus of the second card. I chose Berry Bliss, stamped off once for the flower shading and, when paired with black, it's really striking! It was so easy to add a little background interest with the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape. The new Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon is an absolute dream for making shabby chic bows!

That's all I have to show, so click the Next button to see what Betty has to show you over at Kitty Stamp. Or, if you want to travel backwards (you rebel, you!), click the Previous button to see Sarah's projects. Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely Friends Makes Me Happy!

I love quick and easy cards, and this card couldn't be much quicker or easier to make! The large greetings in Lovely Friends make up the "easy" part of this card, which makes me ridiculously happy. And so does the color combo of Tranquil Tide and Pool Party - it's a match made in heaven!

Today we are taking Mom to one of our favorite restaurants in the "big city" so I needed to get a quick card done and posted.

Here's the "How To"
 Greeting: Whisper White 2-7/8" x 3-7/8"
 Mat: Tranquil Tide 3" x 4"
 Background: Pool Party 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
 Card base: Tranquil Tide 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4"
  1. Stamp background Burlap stamp in Pool Party on Pool Party cardstock. Attach to card base.
  2. Stamp greeting on Whisper White in Tranquil Tide ink, then attach to Tranquil Tide mat. Adhere to card base with dimensionals.
  3. Make loops of Copper Metallic Thread and adhere with a glue dot. Attach In Color Bitty Bow on top.
Seriously, it doesn't get any simpler! I hope you all are enjoying your first day of Summer, and I pray the people affected by the awful heat out West, and tropical storm Cindy here in the South will be safe. (I just want to state right here and now that I am not responsible for any storm damage, LOL!!!)

New Catalog Tour de Freaks!

Welcome to the June 2017 Tour de Freaks, the Control Freaks Stampers monthly blog hop. This month the theme is NEW CATALOG, which means anything in the new catalog! That leaves it wide open to some amazing creativity from the Freaks! You may have landed here from Kelly's blog, A Stamp Above, or just started here at my blog - either way, click the links at the bottom of each stop to see what everyone has made.

Today my main focus is the beeyoootiful Oh So Eclectic bundle. Oh, I swear I nearly swooned when I saw it, and it was at the tippy top of my list when I could order it!

The diamond die cut can be lined up and cut again, as I did here, to make the design wider. I love the colors in the Naturally Eclectic DSP, which I used as inspiration for this card.

Up next is a softer look using Fresh Fig, Powder Pink and Blushing Bride. I had to borrow the leaf die from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits because I wanted a finer leaf than the one in the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.

Doesn't the Gold Glimmer Paper add just the right bling?! The card was pretty before, but the gold makes it really pop!

Keeping it short and sweet today, so that's all for me for this month's tour! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you next month. Now go see what Debbie Henderson has in store for you - she always rocks the hop!

Beautiful Bouquet, Beautiful Sentiment

This is another one of the lovely images and sentiments in the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. There are thirty-seven stamps in that set! This is the other swap card for the Stampin' Addicts swap.

I figured out that the black Lots of Labels die cut could be shortened to make a better mat for the image label. After cutting it the first time, I lined up the straight sides with the metal die, but moved the die down a bit on the die cut cardstock so it shortened the overall length.

This has to be a quick post because I need to get my Control Freaks blog hop projects finished and photographed! See you Monday at 8:45 PM (Eastern) for the tour!

Playing Catch Up

Boy, I didn't think Mom's visit would have such an impact on my productivity! I apologize for being so late with these posts. I'm catching up on Saturday's post here, and will do Sunday's shortly. And later on I'll be posting Monday's, too, because it's time for the Control Freaks Tour de Freaks again.....already. Time is sure zipping by here on the farm, between garden chores and Mom's visit!

This is one of the cards I made for a swap with the Stampin' Addicts. (So if you're a S.A., sorry for the spoiler!)

Being somewhat of a coffee addict enthusiast, I was happy to see the Coffee Cafe Suite in the new catalog. I do sorely miss having a Starbuck's nearby, but it's probably better for my wallet and waistline that there isn't one within an hour of me.
