Flocked Christmas Box Tutorial

Wow, what a nice response to the flocked window sheet box! Thanks for the comments and the email requests for a tutorial. Well, you asked for it, so here it is! The finished dimensions are 4½" x 6" x 2" which will hold a nice set of A2 cards and envelopes, or candy/cookies.

Materials and Tools
Window sheet* cut to 10" x 11"
Brushed Silver cardstock cut 4⅛" x 8⅛"
Simply Scored Scoring Tool
Bone Folder
Sticky Strip
Paper Snips
Paper Cutter
Big Shot and embossing folder (optional)
* If using window sheets with a design, make sure the design is facing the right way when holding the sheet in "portrait" mode.
NOTE: Dotted lines are score lines; solid lines are cutting lines.

FOR BOX BOTTOM:
1. Place window sheet in Simply Scored Scoring Tool in portrait position, with 10" length against upper fence. If using flocked window sheet, placed flocked side facing down.
2. Score at 2" and 8", scoring firmly. (May need to score a couple times.)
3. Rotate window sheet to landscape position and score at 4½" and 6½". Finger-press folds on score lines.

4. Cut the 4½" and 6½" score lines in to the 2" score line.

5. Trim off shaded areas as shown in illustration above, leaving about ¼". Apply Sticky Strip to ¼" side tabs, burnishing firmly with bone folder to adhere.

6. Adhere side flaps to side tabs, and burnish from inside with bone folder to adhere.

FOR BOX TOP:
1. Score cardstock at 1" on all four sides.

2. Cut into score lines as shown in illustration above, and trim off excess flaps, leaving ¼" tabs.

3. Fold on score lines to form box top. Check to see if edges are even. If not, trim with Paper Cutter.

 4. Adhere with Sticky Strip.

Note: If you want to emboss the lid, before you adhere the end flaps, fold them under under so the lid will fit into the embossing folder. This works better with the new, larger SU folders. (End flaps will be debossed). Also, embossing may make the lid fit snugly, so you might need to compensate by cutting the lid ⅛" larger in width and length.

Okay, your box is ready to decorate and fill with goodies!
